Located in Weiyuan Town, the seat of the Tu Autonomous County of Huzhu, 30 kilometers from Xining, the Tu Village has more than 100 families with over 500 inhabitants. The villagers speak their own language, and have their own tradition and culture.

Tu Village have a total population of 190,900. The Tu people used to believe in the multi-gods religion, with some believing in Taoism. After the Yuan and Ming dynasties, the majority of people began to believe in Tibetan Buddhism while ancestors worship and multi-gods worship were still kept.

Features
They are talented singers and dancers. The Tu women are good as embroidery, and their clothes are joined together with pieces of cloth in blue, black, yellow, white, and red, embodying the sky, the earth, harvest, good luck, and enthusiasm. Hence, the county is known as Home of the Rainbow.

July´s Nadun in lunar calendar is not only a traditional temple fair for the Tu people, but also a grand entertainment meeting of mass foundation and rich national characteristic. It lasts two months, starting from mid July and ending in mid September in the lunar calendar. Because of its long duration, large scale and grand scene, it is called ¡°the longest carnival in the world"
