Coloane Island has a very tranquil atmosphere, making it a good place to escape the frantic pace of the Macau Peninsular. Those who enjoy spending time on the beach are simply spoiled for choice on Coloane Island. Cheoc Van and Hac Sa are perhaps the best beaches as they feature plenty of golden sand and cool, clear water.

This is a great place to practice a range of water sports such as snorkeling, kayaking and sailing, while many prefer to simply lie on the beach and soak up the sun. Coloane Island is particularly well known for its seafood, and a great way to end a lazy day on the beach is by eating fresh barbequed seafood as the sun slowly sets. Laid-back beach bars can be found all around the island, offering food, atmosphere and all sorts of cocktails and other tipples.

Although Coloane Island is a great place for chilling out, there is also plenty to do. Seac Pai Van Park is a pretty place to explore, while there are numerous interesting places of worship to see such as the Chapel of St Francis and Tam Kong and Sam Seng temples.
