Visitors to Macau will find the city is a shopper’s paradise, this is owing to its free port status. Jewelry (particularly gold), brand label clothes, Chinese antiques, porcelain, pottery, wine, cameras, watches, knit-wear, electric gadgetry, etc. are among the most popular commodities, all are at free duty prices.

What to Buy
Antiques& Furniture
It is a good idea to choose a reproduction of traditional-style rosewood Chinese furniture, porcelain wares, lacquer, bronze wares, wood carvings or Chinese paintings in Rua de S.Paulo Area.

Wine
Macau is a good place to buy wine from Portugal at duty-free prices. Well-packed aromatic authentic Douru and Alentejo wine is available at all supermarkets.

Jewelry
Jewelries made from gold, pearl and crystal are available in credit standing jewelry shops as well as souvenir stalls on the antique street near the Ruins of St. Paul's.

Clothes
In Macau, there are many clothes and footwear shops. Visitors may find both formal and casual wear, from men's suits to women's summer accessories. Clothes of traditional Chinese styles are very popular souvenirs for tourists.

Macau Peninsular
Av. Almeida Ribeiro, Av. Infante D. Henrique, Rua Pedro Nolasco da Silva and Av. de Horta e Costa are where shopping centers scatter.

Senado Square Area
On the northern side of Av. Almeida Ribeiro it is the Senado Square, the main vibrant area in the city center. A great number of shops and food stalls converge there. It is a good place for fashionable clothes.
Red Market& Av. de Horta


e Costa
At the crossing of Av. do Almirante Lacerda and Av, de Horta e Costa, it is the Red Market. This market is now a pedestrian street. Buildings are mainly constructed of red color in the 20th century, by the Portuguese. Visitors may find here the best fruits at reasonable prices.

Rua de S.Paulo Area
Visitors searching for furniture and antiques will find this area interesting.  Rua de S.Paulo Area extends along the Rua de S.Paulo. Dozens of shops sell authentic antique porcelain, ancient coins and rosewood reproductions of traditional Chinese furniture.

New Yaohan& Macau Landmark
New Yaohan is located in opposite to the reclaimed land of the Macau Ferry Terminal. It is the most popular shopping center in the city. Visitors may find all kinds of electronic appliances and cameras varieties from China and abroad.

Outlying Islands
Taipa Village
Taipa Village is an old town on Taipa island. Now it has become a popular tourist area. There are a great number of pastry shops and street vendors. Macau dim sum and snacks are available on this famous dinning street.
