Electricty shortage around China, Why?|
Hunan, Hubei, Shanxi, Zhejiang, Guangdong, Chongqing, Guizhou, Shannxi,... More than half of China announced either the shortage of electricty supply or the shortage in the coming summer.
Supply: The capacity of electricity production was 0.96 billion KW.
Demand: the consumption is 0.419 billion KW.
Demand/Supply = 40%
And then so much excess supply, What caused the present electricity shortage?
Let us examine one single case:
the supply and the demand of Hunan province.
The capacity of electricity production is 14.17 million KW. But the present production is only 7 million KW. More than half of electricity generators cease working.
In Henan province, 20% of electricity generators cease working.
From 2008, the major 5 largest electricity power plant companies had a deficit of RMB 60 Billion in total.
the price of coal was rising, the labor cost, and managment cost of electricity power plants were rising.
But the price of electricity sold by electricity power plants was fixed.
(though the price of electricity bought by ordinary Chinese was rising.)
The profits of State Grid of China had soared 1828% in the first 11 month of 2010, or a profit of RMB 59.2 Billion.
The electricity power plants are factories. State Grid of China has a monopoly on the circulation in mainland China.
State Grid of China dominated 65% of business earnings of the whole electricity industry.
Factories suffer heavy loss. State Grid enjoy huge wealth.
No doubt Chinese electricity power plants actually choose to strike now.
But who would suffer from the fight between electricity power plants and elctricity grid?
It's Chinese people, It's Chinese economy.
