Two years ago, Chinese poison dumplings were found in Japan. After a short investigation, China said poison was injected in Japan. China was wrong at that time. So Japanese said China are not serious on this case.

Now China arrests the suspect after a two-year long investigation. This time China is serious enough. Will you consider two years as short? But if you want to find fault, you can doubt the identity of the suspect. But why would China try to find a scapegoat for a poison injector?

Narrow heart never thinks big, so please widen your heart. If two countries dispute on trivial things like this, they cannot accomplish anything.

As to the demand for apologize, I think Toyota’s position is proper. The Chinese company involved should say ‘Sorry’ to Japan.

Japan suspicion over China's poison dumpling arrest

TOKYO (AFP) – Japanese media voiced suspicion Sunday about Beijing's motives after China announced the arrest of a factory worker accused of poisoning frozen dumplings destined for Japan.

The arrest came two years after Tokyo first pressed Beijing to investigate the case of the pesticide-tainted dumplings that made 10 people sick in Japan, including a small child, triggering a row between the two neighbours.

"This does not resolve the issue of food safety," the liberal Asahi Shimbun newspaper charged in an editorial, while others questioned why the investigation had taken so long and demanded an apology from China.

Initially, China had insisted that the poison was injected into the dumplings after they had reached Japan, in a spat that adding to tensions over energy and territorial disputes between the neighbours.

"Undoubtedly, the initial Chinese reaction fuelled Japanese consumers' distrust. Why did the investigation take so long?" Japan's Mainichi Shimbun said in an editorial.

"Hopefully this case will be resolved quickly in order for Japan-China relations to develop further."

They took two years to find someone who deliberately poisons Japanese, but only a few months to arrest, try and sentence a few employees of a foreign company who succumbed to the bribes of corrupt Chinese officials.

They took just months to admit Timorese sovereignty (because of oil), but need hundred of years to apologize to the native people whose land they occupied (after the natives being Christianized).

Back to the actual topic (how dare I do that)
