Religion is the fear of the unknown. People worship deities because they believe in something supernatural, something that can prevent or lessen the impact of nature and biology.

Religions always alienated people and in human history were the main cause for war and disaster.

Such questions are dangerous because it lead extremists to express hate.

Sincerely, i think it's far better  for you, if you are really interested in this question, to open some good books about religion antrhopology. You will discover that there are not only one answer about the rule, the purpose, the history of the religion.

Asking if "religions are good or evil" is childish and nonsense. A critic of the religion based only on the religions wars, no matter in middle century or with the 911, cannot be a good critic.

It's like if you ask "is the man good or evil". Religion is an human phenomenon, and so it is not bad or good. It's far more interesting to ask: why human have religions?

I hope you understand my answer.

Religion divides......

between the followers of a certain believe and the rest. So to say, each religion claims to be the definite answers to human problems, thus not following the rule of that believe sets you apart from the chosen.

What I just wrote above, is basically, the main reason why I am an atheist; it's literally impossible to decide which is the right "god" if there is to be one!

#4 If you ask the OP....

if he can understand your mean, he'll probably say no, because you hardly make any sense about anything you wirte. Just as an example, you just told the OP to be childish aand writting nonesense, when in fact, the question he asks has even whole university department professors working on it around teh world.

Next time you post, please try to put that white/gray thing, in the pot beside you, inside your skull. You might even be able to write something sensible!

It depends on the way you interpret religion, If you keep it in your heart its an advantage, if you wanna show it to others and rule by religion it will curse you to dark age. Just look at Islamic nations which has less tolerance to its minorities...their economy is zero....Malaysia is tolerant, Indonesia is secular....that's why they fare better.....
