My mother had a HK Chinese schoolfriend at a girls school in Melbourne in the mid to late 1950s.

HKSAR passport holders find it easier to travel internationally than do mainlanders, so from that point of view, HKSAR & BNO passports are possibly similar in "value" when compared to PRC passports.
