Usually communicating with the British foreigners, when they make the apology for their slow reply, they always say:  aplogise for my slow reply - I do not practice!

Please could someone explain what's the meaning of " I don't practice ". TKS.

"I don't practice"

In England, the phrase "I don't practice" is used to denote a skill or ability that is not used often enough. The phrase "practising Christian" for example means someone who believes in God AND goes to church. A non-practising Christian would be a believer who did not attend church.

It is good that you correspond with soemone in Britain, as the standard of English there is much higher than in America. For evidence of this, just loook at George Bush's face when he's standing next to Tony Blair when the latter is talking at a press conference. It would often seem that Bush is incapable of either comprehending, or even spelling, the words contained in Blair's erudite discourse.
