Career-driven, shy or not interested?

I think the most likely explaination is that his career is very important to him, he probably has little time for a girlfriend.

My boyfriend is 21, before he met me he said he wasn't going to date until he was 28 (old by Western standards) because of his job and having no time. Of course, love changes everything :)

I've found romance and dating aren't really encouraged in China, this friend is probably too shy to ask a girl out and doesn't know how to go about it (just like my boyfriend).

Does he want a girlfriend? Maybe he just wants to be single.

Feedback anyone.

offensive terms mate

I'm not gay but I find those terms offensive, as I come from a society where homosexuality is tolerated and laws against discrimination are encouraged.

Can the mods please clean up this thread?
