The Chinese have for ages been hunting, capturing wild animals and birds and slaughtering them in wet markets for sale as food for the dining table. Wildlife has been decimated so badly that some are on the verge of extinction.  Despite SARS, which was traced to the consumption of the wild animal, the civet cat,  the authority did not act to stop the trade in wildlife, until another coronavirus hit China, this time in Wuhan, and spread throughout China and the world, killing hundreds and infecting tens of thousands more, disrupting life and businesses, badly affecting the economy.  The Wuhan virus is also traced to the consumption of wildlife.  The Chinese disregard for the protection of wildlife has brought huge sufferings to millions of people.  Wild animals seem to have their way of taking revenge on the Chinese, by hitting back with their only weapon, the coronavirus, which is so formidable that it kills hundreds in short time and infects many more.  It is their way of telling the Chinese to leave them alone and respect their right to exist peacefully on earth in harmony with mankind!  It is to be hoped that this message is  not lost on the Chinese, who seem to have extremely short memory after the SARS outbreak!

The Chinese Govt this time round should be commended for its strong measures against the wildlife trade.  Its daily public education programs on CCTV, with videos, exhort the Chinese people to protect wildlife and not to hunt and eat them.  Inspectors go round the wet markets to confiscate wildlife and releasing them to the wild.  Hope that this effort will last long after the coronavirus is controlled; any relaxation, like after SARS, is courting trouble.

The difference between Chinese and you English speaking hypocrites, we kill animals for food. You western brutes slaughtered the Bengal tigers to near extinction for trophies and for the caveman hunting excitement pleasure.
This animal brutality by you western liars continues today in the format of:
"Pay to kill an Africa elephant" holiday tours.
This is absolutely shameful.

Millions of African, South American and East Asian wild animals are illegally trafficked to western zoos and into US homes via onlines purchases. Why don't western governments call a halt to their extinction play of global wildlife?

The Chinese government should stop binding their own hand under pressure, and due to the unproven lies and dubious propaganda of the western governments and media.
