Electronic payment is not foolproof, I have seen bus commuters' cellphone payment failed, no cash on hand, went begging for help, or got to get off the bus!

Indeed electronic payment is not foolproof, as is payment by cash ...

Likely you would also protest against paper currency when it gradually supplanted gold and silver...

Chinese travellers don't face this problem, their Alipay is accepted in many countries, and foreign outlets are rushing in to add it to their system to cash in on the Chinese travellers!
