U.S. bars China supercomputer firms [Copy link] 中文

In March, a U.S. government-led group said it was working with chipmaker Intel Corp and computermaker Cray Inc to develop and build the country’s fastest computer by 2021 for conducting nuclear weapons and other research.
The Department of Energy and the Argonne National Laboratory in Illinois are working on a supercomputer dubbed “Aurora with Intel,” the world’s biggest supplier of data center chips, and Cray, which specializes in the ultra-fast machines.
The $500 million contract for the project calls on the companies to deliver a computer with so-called exaflop performance - that is, being able to perform 1 quintillion - or 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 - calculations per second.


    In May this year,  the Trump administration added China’s Huawei Technologies Co Ltd to the entity list and 68 affiliates in more than two dozen countries. U.S. President Donald Trump has said that the United States could resolve complaints about Huawei as part of a trade deal....

China should seriously remodel its future without the USA.It is becoming clear the US is set out to destroy China's advancement.
It is not just Trump who wants China buried, the gangster Democratic Party politicians are happy sitting back, watching and letting the dotard doing all the dirty fighting for them.

   Oregon Republican senators fled the Capitol and scattered in various directions outside the state in order to avoid being arrested...
       When Republicans failed to show up on the Senate floor for an 11 a.m. session, Senate President Peter Courtney of Salem asked the sergeant at arms to search the Capitol for the missing lawmakers. That search proved fruitless.

In response to the walkout, Senate President Peter Courtney formally requested Democratic Gov. Kate Brown to dispatch Oregon State Police troopers to round up the missing Republican Senators.

   That's what H.K. need to do with their Democrats...

China, however, continues to dominate in terms of the number of ranked supercomputing systems in the Top500 list, which is issued twice a year. China tops the supercomputer list with 219 systems, or 43.8 per cent of the total, followed by the US with 116.

   China lost its leadership in supercomputing after the US took top spot for the fastest supercomputer in 2018, ending China’s five-year dominance...
     
   China is aiming for its newest Shuguang supercomputers to operate about 50 per cent faster than the current best US machine – the Summit – which if all goes to plan, should help China take the title back from the US in this year’s rankings of the world’s fastest machines
