So the HKSAR's West Kowloon Rail Station has punctually started its high-speed passenger service today -- September 23-2018.
It's not just the people in the area around Hong Kong that will benefit from the high-speed rail service, but those in the entire route from South China to Europe.
It will not be limited to commercial traffic as is currently the case with the rail link between Lianyungang and Amsterdam, but will eventually involve passenger service as well.
If everything goes according to plan, within this century you will be able to travel by high-speed rail from HKSAR to New York or Los Angeles, and from there to other parts of the Americas.
And concurrently to the west, high-speed rail links will have been established between China and South Africa.
Australia and Antarctica will probably be the only two continents that will fall outside the global rail network.

Hopefully, this can be realised soon as another alternative to peace and prosperity; or at least, a fair opportunity for developing countries to progress and be the best they can be.
