Chinese m ilk powder anyone ... who buys Chinese b aby mil k powder?????

French baby-milk maker Lactalis and health authorities have ordered a major international product recall because of fears of salmonella contamination, following 26 cases of children falling sick in France.

Company spokesman Michel Nalet said “nearly 7,000 tonnes” of production may have been contaminated, but the company is unable to say currently how much remains on the market, has been consumed or is in stock.

The recall will affect consumers in countries including China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Britain and Sudan, underlining the reach of the company and the difficulty in trying to trace all the potentially at-risk powder.
A statement from the economy ministry said the measures put in place by Lactalis since 2 December were “not sufficient to manage the risk of contamination” and a broader recall was necessary.

Salmonella symptoms include severe diarrhoea, stomach cramps and vomiting. The illness – caused by intestinal bacteria from farm animals – is dangerous for the very young and elderly because of the risk of dehydration.

Then move back to either France, Israel, S Africa or Switzerland and see what you can buy for the  ...

Robert, just to let you know that most PRC developers sell unfinished flats to Chinese buyers. Foreign buyers can only buy finished flats in designated projects offered mostly by HK or Singapore developers. So what Seneca bought was most likely built by a HK developer in Shenzhen targeting HK and Taiwanese buyers. The real estate projects built by PRC developers are not for sale to foreigners, only to Chinese buyers who would then hire a contractor to build out the finished flat. The HK developers are the ones who have problems selling their finished flats to Chinese buyers because they tend to offer only small 1BR or 2BR flats with less than 100 sq.m. unlike the PRC developers who offer 3BR or 4BR flats with more than 100 sq.m. Also, the PRC developers offer more amenities like children’s playground, walkways, retail outlets, gardens, etc. Lastly, PRC developers offer mostly UNFINISHED flats because the Chinese buyers prefer hiring their own contractors to finish out the flat themselves at a cost and quality that they desire. The UNFINISHED flats are literally just concrete shells which can’t be compared to FINISHED flats offered in Europe or elsewhere.

Why do you always fall back on the unfortunate incident years ago of Chinese baby formula?

I thought I taught you a lesson about all the deaths in the US and Europe of drugs vetted
by the FDA and European pharmaceutical agencies that ended up killing thousands of innocent people.
There are dozens of examples.
Why not look up Fen Phen. Just one example of a drug that was cleared for US citizens that ended
up killing dozens and damaging the heart valves of hundreds.

Of course your melodrama always leads you back to the baby formula.
I guess you don't care about the thousands in the west who were killed by drugs approved by the FDA.
Babies have more impact for your melodrama even though very few, certainly not thousands, died as a result.
Your aims are clear. Denigrate China while promoting western oligarchies.
If capitalism promotes innovation and creativity then why aren't scientists and artists the richest people in a capitalist nation?
