What do you think of the Chinese culture of being proud of working hard even when it's hurting health?

There are more and more startups in China now especially in IT industry. It's very normal to see their employees overwork. But they are proud of it and would feel guilty of not doing so when others do even if they know it may hurt their health.

I didn't realize it was part of the culture to be honest..
but In quite a few industries at least 3 workers are normally needed to fill one position
example: I have nearly 50 workers under me, (in shangai its more),.. but in a western country the maximum would be 10
if you want something in life get off your backside, and do it yourself!! don't rely on others to do it for you
