Well, the not-so-smart election by voting machines is getting hot again with the announcement of the Marcos Jr. camp that just as they claimed, there were other servers used in processing the raw votes BEFORE the canvassing agencies got their processed results, servers that were never approved, inspected or tested for dependability.  This opens the floodgates of potential tampering wide open.

It appears that Marcos Jr's claims were valid after all, despite the scarcity of public information about the existence of such servers.  So much for the "free press" if it cannot even report on such a stunning deviation from proper electoral process.  Either it did not know, or did not want the public to know.

Nobody is faulting the nominal winner, who may not have known of such shenanigans, even if they were all in her favor.  It only shows that the masterminds of this game treat her purely as a pawn, and gives life to another claim of Marcos Jr., that he heard rumors of a PLAN B, using the incorrectly "elected" Vice-President to replace Duterte by one means or another.  This, is far more serious, and harder to prove as well.

It does not matter that Duterte was democratically elected by a landslide victory.

Seeing how his selection of appointees based on personal trust has often left him overly dependent on them, policy-wise and physically, it is sobering to think about the thousand and one scenarios that may overshadow one of the most popularly elected presidency in the history of that nation.  Not surprisingly, the one warning him about such dangers is the very person who was denied his proper office of the Vice-Presidency by a electoral commission that did not even know where it got its election tallies from, mirroring the kangaroo arbitral tribunal that was convened, in contradiction to the Article 298 of UNCLOS in gross violation of the rights of its signatory, on an internationally embarrassing scale.  These dishonest machinations are, of course, unworthy of the praise and blessings of countless bishops and clergy, and they only prove that appearances are deceiving.  It is in the national interest of the Philippines therefore for Duterte to consider declaring martial law if the matter of the Vice-Presidential election is not resolved by the supreme court of the Philippines speedily, because the viability of the country as a democracy, and of the office of the President as an institution based on popular will, rather than rules of succession by trickery, is in jeopardy.

The claim of Marcos Jr of a Plan B cannot be dismissed as pure rumor.  If Marcos Junior's claim of the existence of secret servers is true, then his claim of Plan B is also probably true.  And if Plan B is probably true, President Duterte is facing the threat of subversion on an ongoing daily basis, something no chief executive of a country should be asked to forebear rather than clamp down on.
