The Spratly Islands is in the 200 Kilometers Exclusive Economic Zone of Philippines. And China is  ...

UNCLOS doesn't deal with territorial sovereignty of offshore islands. It merely defines maritime rights for several types of maritime domains such as internal waters, territorial waters, exclusive economic zones(EEZ), continental shelf, etc.

The so–called "Kalayaan" claim is based on the political acts of the Philippine State asserting territorial sovereignty over the offshore islands in the Spratly Islands after Marcos passed a law creating the so-called "Kalayaan" claim predating UNCLOS by several decades.

Geographical proximity doesn't grant territorial sovereignty to offshore islands which is based on its political history. A good example is the Falkland Islands which is near Argentina but far away from the UK. Argentina can't claim territorial sovereignty to the Falkland Islands based on geographical proximity.

The gist of the Philippine case is this:

1. PCA ruling: all of the Spratly Islands are mere "rocks" not islands that nobody can own and control.
2. Kalayaan claim: some of the Spratly Islands are islands that we want to own and control.

Claims 1. and 2. contradict each other.

Stupid people are like Glowsticks. You want to snap them in half and shake the crap out of them until they see the light.
I love sarcasm. It's like punching someone in the head ... only with words

China should take the chance to reach out and trade with all while maintaining safety of the waters. An excellent chance. It is good to see China taking a role as guardian of the seas. Asia definitely needs more protection.
Ignore all these silly claims other countries are making.    It's hilarious!
