Sparks are sure to fly when Marcos Jr., decides not to accept the results of the recent vice-presidential election, and file an election protest instead, alleging the existence of a "fourth server" used to queue messages from the voting machines to the main servers that had not been certified beforehand as immune to tampering.

While previously adopting a gentlemanly pose with respect to his rival, Marcos Jr is now all fired up after he was called a liar.

On the other hand, President-elect Duterte decided not to attend the Philippines National Day celebrations with outgoing President Aquino III, who was warning the country of the dangers of dictatorship.  This is unfortunate, but not unexpected.  Elections, fairly conducted, can ameliorate rivalries, but when conducted under a lot of questions, can inflame them instead.  This was a chance for peace, missed not by Marcos Jr., who tried his best to play by the rules, but by the rulemakers themselves, who paid no heed to his cries of their undemocratic violation.  It is a long road to freedom, and only truth and love can find the way.

This is what happens when a sovereign people depends on foreign firms to guarantee their sovereignty.

Self-reliance is the hard way, but also the best way.

TANGO FOR TWO, AND TANGLE FOR THREE - A THREE BODY PROBLEM IN PHYSICS IS UNSTABLE.

China is confident that if the Philippines negotiates in good faith based on its own national interest, and stops using forced arguments from other parties, the two countries can resolve most if not all their territorial disputes amicably.  Introduce another party, and the talks can at most achieve a zero-sum outcome between China and the Philippines.  This is a mathematical certainty.

China's insistence on bilateral talks is designed to preserve the possibility of a win-win outcome between the Philippines and China.

Make it multilateral, and the most that can be achieved, is a zero sum result.

When a government prefers to have 3 parties to a negotiation over resources to be shared by 2, it raises the question of whether it is actually selling out its share to the 3rd party, in exchange for private rewards or favors, because without the latter, the arithmetic does not add up at all.

This is elementary, my dear Watson.
