Given that China has leapfrogged many traditional development trends followed in developed western countries, the most obvious being the land based wired telephones, there's no sense that China needs to follow the urbanization trend either. This is especially obvious given a recent survey that shows most rural people chose to stay where they are and that there's a reverse trend of migration of urban people back to their rural habitats. In the case, e-commerce and the development an e-eco infrastructure and environment for rural communities is essential and should be encouraged in order to bring urban conveniences, innovations and craftsmanship to rural communities.
