Cities will not be allowed to build more "oversized, xenocentric, weird" buildings devoid of cultural tradition in the future, according to a new directive from the central government.

The State Council, or the cabinet, and the Communist Party of China Central Committee issued the directive on Sunday. It says buildings should be "suitable, economic, green and pleasing to the eye."

Architecture is part artistic expression. Micromanaging artistic expression does not make sense and is contrary to the spirit of creativity and innovation. To people 100 years ago, all modern architecture appears weird.

While some of the building are really weird , some are really beautiful and imaginative such as 9, 11 and 13.
China should build building remembering great patriots of China instead of copying structures of foreign lands.
The great poet Qui Yuan who is remembered very 5th of may should have a building dedicated to him so is Yue Fei who gave his life to make China safe from marauding tribes from the west.
I often shed tears when reading the poems written by  these tow great heroes and patriots of china.
