I think KIyer meant "imperialism" not "nationalism".

Well nobody did imperialism better than us way back, did they ?  The empires have disintegrated territorily but the Capitalists who now rule most of the world are oblivious to Nationalism, Racism and Facism.

So long as they're all on board in practise it doesn't matter a f*ck what they want to call themselves.

KIyer: what strange definitions. Which dictionary have you used to define these words?

These are as I understand them.  Tell me where you  specifically disagree with them. You may use a dictionary as  reference to support your claim of their  'strangeness' with my statements if you wish.

Imperialism with the belief in a nation's supposed superiority is the nationalism that we all seem to fear and  condemn in others. If someone just believed that nationalism is NOT imperialist they would worry less about it in others.

I have deliberately redefined the terms 'nationalism, racism and fascism' as I see them being used in practice, not out of some ideal definition in a dictionary. I want to encourage members on this forum to challenge these and put in their own understanding of these words, hopefully in simple language and words.

It is quite obvious that even very common simple words like 'equality' , 'liberty', 'freedom', 'fraternity', 'men', 'compassion', 'aid',  etc are all defined in some English dictionaries, and people use them very differently in practice for over hundreds of years. I want to make these real world, practical meanings clearer for all, with everyone's understanding of these words. Then we can all look at the dictionary meanings for these words and see how close to or far off the mark we are!

I think it is a good way for learners to understand practical English as opposed to  theoretical definitions.
