"he should not take this personally"

That's good, I am sure that he reads all of your comments on CD most diligently and that he is acutely aware of how perceptive your insights are into his personal psychology. No doubt he is personally very grateful for your attention to his every move, utterance and facial expression. Princes, one and all, we kow tow to your superior brahmin knowledge on this and every subject presently known to humankind.

its only his mum who told him to go to his room when important guests are visiting. that is quite normal with abnormally embarrassing or gaffe prone kids. The UK government and the royal family wants to make sure that he does not do something silly and jeopardize any trade deals. They will probably ask a few other gaffe prone royals to behave within prescribed limits.

You might be very surprised to know that nobody, and that means absolutely nobody, tells members of the British monarchy what to do or how to behave. The royals are at the top of the tree of their society and not even the Prime Minister would have the cojones to suggest how "his betters" should behave themselves. Such instructions would always be directed "downwards" from the royals to the plebs "beneath" them.

If such an imprimatur ever effectiy existed for the English royal family to comport themselves with utmost  decorum then in fact they would would not be prone to the gaffes which you mention. Thus they are free to make such gaffes whenever and to whoever they wish, leaving their sycophant spin doctors and handmaidens to clean up the mess afterwards. Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh ( the Queen's husband ), would be first among these "foot-in-mouth" outspoken royals rather than Prince Charles and, as indicated before, no-one would have the temerity to tell this steely old git how to behave. That's the royal prerogative and it's beyond question.

As for yourself pointing out those who are "gaffe prone", to use a well-worn English proverb, that would indeed be akin to the pot calling the kettle black.
