I come across articles and books with different views presented on same topic. Without quoting examples here , i can say that the practice is evident in every country , region, religion , so much that I sometimes doubt if the history I am reading is based on facts or a person / governemnt perception. Perhaps history is distorted to keep the society intact or to ignite pariotism but my question is
- Is it ethical to distort history ?
- Does an individual/government has the right to distort history no matter good or bad and keep future generations in dark forever just becuse he can?
There is no objective, unbiased, honest, all knowing person or persons writing down or recording history. There are such individuals scattered all over, but often they do not get to write down official versions that are taught to further someone's cause. It has always been like this ever since humans have learned to distort the truth. It is a way of stealing - stealing truth, reality or someone's rights, gaining an unfair a psychological advantage over others by hijacking their version of history. It is only when we are sufficiently distant in time to have no more grudges that we can still agree objectively on some historical truths that stand out despite some humans' best efforts.
