NOW THIS IS INTERESTING!! The top talents... future potential leaders of China!! However, a leader should possess wisdom and virtue. Hopefully they will be loyal to the state and use their talents for the betterment of the common folk.
Always nice to see hardworking students! An inspiration to all!! This is what defines a Chinese. Not belly dancing, n other crap.
Heyyyyyyy ... maybe they should be allowed to have more than one child... good genetics!!

I firmly believe that if the children of rural folk are given equal opportunities in education and training. They will be up among there. Having seen poverty, they possess the true quality of leaders.

As they transit from education, to the workforce, they will need to select a subject or topic of specialization ....... be it economics, science n technology or arts. It is good to provide them additional exposure to other aspects of society. Eg. healthcare, environmental well-being/pollution, values education, history, military ... etc. Of course this exposure should not be too detailed or excessive. (Just key concepts/ideas only...Too much stress kills creativity n thinking.) Provide information n discussion. It serves to provide them with a balanced view of Chinese society in itself and in the global arena.

A Chinese friend of mine had a good score on the Gao Kao 4 years ago. She subsequently went to a big college and later complained that college life was not very challenging. She feels that she wasted at least 2 years  in a college that treated students like children. Curfew, no internet after 10pm, wasting time doing things with little little value in today's market. Her schedule was semi-inane, made purely to be advantageous to teachers, not students.
University was run down, badly paid, burned out teachers waiting to retire.
