My Chinese wife has been here for 2 months now and she can't believe how many American's have invited her out to eat and she has never been so welcomed in her life.  When I first went to China in 2000 everyone in America said it was dangerous but the funny thing was they had no idea how nice people in China were to me!  I was soooooo surprised to hear from my wife that she thought American's look down on Chinese people.
American's love Chinese and Chinese love Americans.  Lets not believe our governments!

Dunno

I was told them same thing before I came to China. That it was a dangerous place. But after I got here I see that it's safer in China than in the US by far. The Chinese people treat foreigners here better than we treat foreigners in the US, I think.
Just like the US thinks is dangerous in China, Chinese thinks Americans are not friendly. But I think we are both just uneducated about each others countries and the culture. The foreign English teaching here in China needs to cover the Western culture as well as language but they do not cover that in schools.
Maybe more knowledge of each others culture will soon change and we will all understand. atlguy1066@hotmail.com

Governments play polictics ,citizens concentrate on relationship

That is clear when both countries can't get along they always tell their citizens not to visit the opposite country.

Your right!

The fact is though we are both interested in each other's culture.  All my friends in America wish they could have enough money to take a trip to China.  Its a very interesting country and my wife gets asked soooooo many questions about life in China and culture.  No one looks down on China or Chinese.  We all wish we could visit just as much as Chinese wish they could visit America.  Its the same feeling of excitement that your visiting a new country.  People are welcoming in America too!  Don't believe that American's are not nice to foreigners.  Lets stop this negetive thinking now.

chinese in america and american in china

americans in china are guests and specialists, respected by the hospitable chinese, a chinese who has been married to an american is envied of

chinese in american are second-class citizen, a person who has been married to a chinese will have to face the prejudice that his chinese wife or husband is marrying for money or green cards.

Your wrong Monalisa

Monalisa!

Everyone in China thinks that American's look down on Chinese and see them as second class citizens.  Your WRONG!  Americans see Chinese ass smart, hard working, and VERY dedicated people.  I have over 200 people come to our retail store here in New Orleans, LA and everytime someone meets my Chinese wife they tell me i'm soooooooo lucky to have married her.  No one looks at chinese as second class citizens.  Chinese people that have never visited America beleive that way!  That's the whole reason I started this post was to stop that thinking pattern!  AMERICANS SEE CHINESE AS SMART, SUCESSFUL, AND HARD WORKING!!

I can prove my statement!

I hope more people that have been to America will agree with this.  The Chinese that live in America own successful businesses, their children are always in the best colleges and do VERY well in school, and their family's are always looked at as a supportive and unified group.  No one thinks of Chinese as second class because they come to America and work so hard to be first class citizens!
