Is the Cow sacred in India, Nepal and Burma? I have never heard anything like this in my life before, that a cow can be offended. How do you apologize to your food or in a nicer way, how do you appease the cow? I mean no disrespect but um the author did well to compile all these facts, quite interesting.

The cow is a sacred animal in the "Hindu" belief system. As far as I'm aware it's specifically the female / milk cow that is sacred. Oxen etc may be slaughtered.  The same applies in Nepal where all animals may not be killed for food, but if they die or have an accident that kills them then they can be eaten.  Burma follows the general trend as well.

Thanks for sharing, quite helpful info. Much respect for the Hindu Belief System, I didn't know that before.
