And you believe that. Decades earlier, "they" also said they didn't want the Soviet Union to fall, and of course the Soviet Union did. Then they said they didn't want Russia to fall and even promised that NATO would never "move an inch" towards the borders of Russia. By the time Clinton took over, they did exactly that.

If Hagel's threatening words and Japan's intransigent claims over the Diaoyutai are not hostile moves, or US bombers flying overhead when the Philippines sent boats to some Xisha/Nansha areas, or the buildup of a military base in Australia aren't containment, what are they? Innocent ping pong games?

Confucius and later Lincoln had pointed out the when an idiot doesn't talk (or writes), then no one would know he's really one. The author should take this advice seriously.
