China clearly has the advantage in that respect. Bombs, guns, etc......achieve nothing these days.....
15 yrs or so fighting in the middle east, and we are now back to square 1

How is that, you are talking of the theory of a limited nuclear exchange, if China and America start exchanging nuclear weapons, Russia and North Korea will also get involved and everybody will launch everything they have.

emp... emp... it toasts the components of even the most advance technology and we know what transpires from there...  

and, just as how it is that gps would guide us to where we wanted to go, the technology that we so take for granted these days won't be of any use to us anymore if, for examples, if a solar storm hits and the components inside, say... a beidu satellite (or its peers) gets demagnetized or even melts (microwaved) when we needed it most...

these are two the most vital of elements in military operations today... for example: you blind the guidance system or have the components of those df-21d's (and its peers) toasted, your aircraft carrier battle groups would be home free. it can then start firing off all of those df-21 counterparts at will and at its discretion no headaches required...
