The sordid drama continues. The investigation into the Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 crash hasn't reached anywhere, at least officially, even a month after it blew up into pieces. The Western powers, led by the United States, have intensified their diatribe against Russia. The G7 has imposed fresh sanctions on Moscow, condemning "Russia's illegal annexation of Crimea, and actions to destabilize east ...

>force the US administration to stop treating the world as its playground, we will see more chaos in Asia and Africa, a more chaotic Middle East, and more Iraqs, Afghanistans and Ukraines - and investigations into disasters like the downing of the MH17 can go to<

Exactly!! That's why, in my reply to an article as to how the US could avoid another "mess" in Iraq, I asked why the US should do so when creating a "mess" is exactly what the US wanted. Just as the US did in the Ukraine, Libya, Afghanistan, Syria, and before too long in China/South China Sea as well. But I don't expect too many post-1978 Chinese "intellectuals" to have Op Rana's insight.

Unfortunately the rebels quickly decided not to take a cease fire seriously. Not hard to see why Ukraine opted to resume fighting to remove the foreign aided separtist threat from Ukraine soil.

The US had more to do with the downing of MH17 than the Russians. It is becoming all too obvious.
How is that pal - where are the "obvious" facts to support your view ? Are you going to argue that it wasn't Russian backed separatists that shot down the MH17 ? How could you distort the obvious facts of this incident to blame USA rather than Russia which shares a border with the Ukraine, which has recently occupied The Crimea, and which has consistently been transporting military equipment to auhtorised Russian forces and unauthorised terrorists onto Ukraine soil ? Your whole argument beggars belief.

I think the USA approach towards Russia is ignorant of history and very unfortunate. Ignorant because since Crimea is the only practical warm water port that Russia has. The Russians never have willingly, nor should they, give up this strategic asset. It is unfortunate since we need cooperation not squabbling between major world powers. This is not a good example for the rest of the world

"The Cold War may be over," says Op Rana, "not the Cold War mentality."

Well, he certainly writes as if this is the case. His article might have come from Pravda in the 1970s!
