A debate on China at a Brazilian university - UNEMAT
2021-07-02

On June 14, the State University of Mato Grosso, Unemat, held an open class with the professor at the State University of Rio de Janeiro, Elias Jabbour, for law students at the Rondonopolis campus.
It was during Professor Maurício Munhoz's political economy class, and the idea was to promote a debate on the relationship between China and Brazil, with emphasis on the State of Mato Grosso, a major supplier of agricultural commodities to China, such as soybeans.
Professor Jabbour explained that China is a model of socialism with many changes compared to the original Marxism, as it is a model that relates to the market in a modern and innovative way.
With what Jabbour calls "projection", China advances in economic indicators, but also promotes a profound policy to reduce its social and regional inequalities.
Approximately 300 people participated in the live class, by web, including regular students and people from all over the country.
