He Garden in Yangzhou

There is a division wall in the middle of the two-way winding corridor.

It is three-li long and goes up and down smoothly.

It connects hills, goes around ponds and passes through rooms and halls.

On the corridor, one can appreciate the whole scenery of the garden at day and night.

There is a spectacular view in a court of rockworks.

In daytime, the image of a full moon appears in the middle of the pond!

One can watch Chinese operas performed in a theater booth surrounded by water.

The banquet hall of He’s family looks like a hovering butterfly

In a boat-like hall, one feels like living on water.

The hall has surrounding glass inlay windows.

Marvelous rockworks were piled along the surrounding wall of the garden.

Water winds valleys and goes under the corridor.

双面回廊夹道墙，高低勾搭三里长。

衔山环水入室堂，立体景观日夜赏。

片石山房藏奇观，白天明月池中央。

水中戏亭戏曲看，何家宴厅蝴蝶展。

水居意境厅似船，四周玻璃嵌花窗。

贴墙堆叠奇假山，水绕山谷通回廊。
