It was the Chinese new year's Eve on February seventh 2016. On that afternoon, my father and I hung on the red lantern and pasted red paper with best wishes written on it on our door. Also, My family started to clean our house which means a new climate in my family in the new year. After we cleaned up our house, my father and I went to supermarket to buy lots of fruits and nuts and vegetable for the spring festival. Also, we put on our new clothes, new trousers new socks and new shoes on the Chinese New years' Eve. At about four o'clock PM, I helped my parents with an abundant meal which included fish, pork, beef, salad, and vegetable and all kinds of food.
At about six o'clock PM, my family members which included my father, my mother, my wife, my son and I started to have the Chinese new year's Eve meal (nian ye fan). we drank and sent best wishes for the coming year one another. Also, my son kneeled down before his grandparents and my parents gave my son a red envelop with five hundred Yuan in it as a gift. After the meal, we sit down to watch TV program on CCTV. At about eleven and a half o'clock PM, my son and I went downstairs to fired the firework. We had a lot of firework in my neighbors and the powder smell in the atmosphere was every strong. After firework, it was about 0:30 we went home to eat dumplings which was cooked for the first meal of the new year( the year of the Monkey).
The next morning which is the first day of the new year, we went to my neighbors to send my best wishes to my friends. Also, my neighbors sent best wishes to me.
All those was the new year's Eve and the first day of the new year in my family and my neighborhood. We had a peaceful and fortunate vacation.
