Hot reports on campus life
2014-11-24
It is universally acknowledged that audiences of news reports inclined to read the news they care about, so for college students, they are more often focused on news centering around campus life, though most of the time, news wildly circulated, concerned and discussed are those bad and depressing ones.
In recent months, from August up to now, there emerge the news on female college students falling victims to illegal vehicles; university teachers having affairs with students as well as an array of reports of students commit suicide by jumping off buildings. This article will focus on the last one: suicides.
Well so much so concentrated negative stories shouldn’t give people a impression that campus life is that tragic. Generally speaking, for most it’s a precious and vigorous experience.
But still, as media are so dedicated to the dark side of campus life, it might be a chance for us to look at those issues bothering college students and find ways together to overcome and embrace tomorrow rather than death.
Few reports on college suicide give the motives, for one thing, this is a personal issue; for second, people, especially teenagers are less understandable for others. In light of the student who jump off a building in Renmin University of China, no one can tell why such an outgoing and outstanding person would seek to death.
It is true that the digital world and information era keeps it’s users in isolated boxes, a place impenetrable to other people. Communications become ambiguous and life occupied by exchanges with screens. It’s the time when you realized how rare and precious a heart-to-heart talk with friend is.
Besides a lack of spiritual communication, there are also various of pressures taking out the breath of those on the list of graduation. The process is complicated, while the attitude is simple: being persistent. Persist in being who you are; persist in getting what you want and persist in being alive. There is a saying goes like that, find what you love and let it kill you. Though it’s a little extreme, but what’s the reason to end one’s life before encounter the one thing worth a whole life to work for?
In all, college life is a fruitful stage for most people. Bad things happen, but it won’t represent what university is all about, finally, it’s for everyone to experience by themselves.
