My father is 80 years old this year. He has a wish to visit Beijing and has a look at Tiananmen Square, Chairman Mao Memory Hall ,and climb the Great Wall. A few days ago I had time so I companied my father to Beijing. I could feel he was glad that I took him to Beijing.

On May 20, we took the train from Harbin to Beijing. The train ticket is so difficult to buy that we bought two top bed tickets. On the train I asked the conductor if he could help change a lower bed for my old father, he said he couldn't. But a young woman said she would change with my father , we were very thankful. Around us there are always kind people and they are helpful.

During the journey, my old father always tried to do with everything to prove his ability though he is 80.To be honest, he couldn't deal with anything well , for example, when we needed to take the subway, he often mistook the directions but he still insisted his idea. If I told him he was wrong, he would argued with me .So whatever he said , I just kept quiet and said nothing. Seeing me calming down, sometimes he had to follow me and shut up.There is no way, after all , he is old, but he isn't old in spirit, he thinks he can do everything well , and that brings me much trouble.

On the afternoon of May 21, we visited the Summer Palace. There we met many tourists, including many foreingners. We walked around the Kunming Lake until the Seven Hole Bridge. On the bridge, so many little stone lions impressed both of us. They are all vivid . And in the evening, we went to see the Bird Net and the Water Tube. We often saw them on TV, but now they were in front of us, we saw them with our own eyes. It is a beautiful experience.

On May 21, my old father and I went to the Tiananmen Square, there my father eyed the body of Chairman Mao, that is my father's strong wish because he expects him very much. Then we stepped onto the Tiananmen Building , that reminded us that Chairman Mao announced new China established. After that, we toured the Palace Musuem. We seemed to back to the Ming and Tsing Dynasties. First Taihe Temple, Zhonghe Temple and Yonghe Temple , then Qianqing Palace, Jiaotai Palace and Kunning Palace, next Yu Follower Garden , so large the Forbidden City is! So magnificent the buildings are!

On May 22, we climbed the Great Wall. My father is very healthy, sometimes I felt very tired and had to rest, but my father could still go on. Some parts of the Great Wall are very steep , everytime we climbed one section we sat down and had a rest.

The Great Wall is the symbol of Chinese nation, and it shows the hardworking, brave and wisdom of Chinese people.

My fater realized his dream to visit Beijing at last, seeing he is happy, I am happy, too.
