Loving Kindness
There are good and bad japanese. The bad japanese who committed actrocities are dead and gone. They are probably weeping and crying in hell for the crime committed during world war two.
Let's us not hate the japanese descendants for the crime their ancestors committed. Let us just remind them that the pains suffered in the hand of their ancestors is unforgetable and unforgivable.
On this score, the japanese descendants who are not guity of the crime committed should learn to be humble and ensure that such things is not repeated again.
The Chinese on the other hand, should spread their loving thoughts and not to say or do anything bad against Japanese.
We should make peace not war, and we should remind and advice, not hate.
Hatred can not be ceased by hatred, hatred can only be cease by loving kindness.

Yes, Gtnbia,
I¡¯m just being sarcastic. It¡¯s obvious that this newky_koh kid hasn¡¯t read my posts well on the same thread. Simple-minded bigots brand you as a traitor when you don¡¯t hate Japan. I thought the KKK only existed in the U.S.!
Go home and do your homework, boy!
This guy¡¯s also full of it.

Sino-Japanese Relations
I think the hatred between Chinese and Japanese is very dangerous and similar to that between Germany and the allies after the first world war. It led to a second world war. Chinese need to learn to forget about the past and to forgive - it was over 50 years ago. Japanese committed attrocities against Australia as well, but Australians have forgiven and don't hate them. The previous Japanese Government and some people working under it were responsible - not the whole Japanese nation, and certainly not the entire people.
But Japan needs to face up to the realities of World War 2, to apologise and to admit in their history books what truly happened. This is my view.

Just forget about them
Just forget the damn japanese already. chinese people need to move on and concentrate on your domestic development, social and economic progress, and stop making our race look silly on CNN and international media.
By throwing rocks, and what not at the japanese soccer team really does reflect badly on me too (as an overseas chinese).
hating them does not do anything, except giving you and me a bad name in international community.
you can channel this energy into more positive things, like passion to excel in electronics, so that one day, made in china, is more valuable than made in japan. and that chinese immigrants one day will not be considered as pest, but considered as people with money, or expats, the status now held by white expatriates.
at the moment china's position is not too strong yet, so a conflict with japan, will only take away their investment and indisputably, chinese people will suffer, jobs will be lost, and economy will be hurt.

To Icelander et al.
... Ta1wanlover, Meln88, Jimoinj, Mr. Richard Gao and other moderates,
You and I are all TRAITORS to the sacred Motherland! Why? Because we are willing to forgive the Nips and move on.
So expect some heavy bombardment from the KKK of China for "defending" Dai Nippon.

"Because we are willing to forgive the Nips and move on. "
it's not about forgiving, it's about doing something positive about it.
For example if somebody murders your family, and he happened to get away with it (not in jail or on death row), and you feel so humiliated, and that it's soooo unfair, and you want to get even. Which is the situation of China today.
Supposed you can do two things:
1. you can kill the bastard, and go to jail. Or you can stalk the person, sometimes throwing rocks at his house, and you will waste your time, waste your energy, and thus you can't do anything else and remain a mental and economic wreck that you are now.
OR
2. forget about him for now, improve your life, rebuild your family, get stronger, buy all the companies in town, so that the bastard one day will work for you, and THEN make his life miserable.
which is the smart choice?
for me the second one. Forgive or not that's your personal choice, all i ask is that you are smart about it.
For example, if i am openly hostile towards japanese (i am an overseas chinese), do you think i can get a job in japan heading up a company with 90% japanese in it? Before long i'd have a riot in my hand. And if i didn't get this job, whose loss is it? the japanese or my own loss? What you feel towards japanese is your own personal thing, and you have your reasons to feel that way, just don't drag the whole race and country with you down due to bad publicity. Be smart.
hope i make myself quite clear.

Smart...
Smart move, Richard. That's the way to go!
But as for me, the best move is to forgive them (but never forget, of course).

Japanese...so hard to find a word with them
They are not only trying to forget the history...but to rewrite it in their textbooks. Any nationality that wants to get rid of their own history can't be a great one. Germans did much better I think.
When People's Republic was in poverty, the Japanese has loaned quite a sum of money. But in recent years they charged it all back with all the Japanese products. They are really tough to front. They're mean really.

do you think we Should remove Nan jing da tu sha out of our history textbook in
Where and when did you form the view of that Japanese are brutal..
It is bad to educate our nationals too much about How we have been tortured during the War Periods, in this way we are hard to accept the new idea in the modern time with reasonable thinking when we are grownup beccoz much of them are involved in emotions.
I think it s nice to study the piece of history when you are in college with an analying view.
I have no idea whether patriotism makes China difficuft to accept some new ideas which are widely acceeped around the world.
Sorry, I think when our people at their young age, we should educate to love and respect every individual country and keep a ray of hope to let New idea and sceience benifit the whole world....
In fact, madam jury or JULI furen who was the female scientist won Noble prize twice for physic and chemicl have great influence in the world, also gave an good example to Chinese youth to share, share ,,,,,like GRAPHIC OF DNA...............TO sHARE.....

Maybe you will say how much Japan company invest in China, but please understand how much profit Japan company earn in China, how much profit Japan company take from China.
We arguy with Japan becaseu Japan govenment still confuse their crime which they did in WWII. The evil people is Japan nation's hero.
Japan yong people don't know what did his parents with China, they can't get the realy information and fact about WWII. So, one day these yong people will become the war machine .

hi
to bebshine
Yes I like Japan, Taiwan, and China too.
I came to this website to have better understanding of and have some communication with Chinese people.
So i am sad not angry to hear emotional, objective comments from you such as "they are much evil than beast. "" Japan nation is best evil in the human history." Without being more specific, i cannot cooment. This is not discussion.
As to reason why Taiwanese people love Japan or its culture, of course not only because they are rich. Love for money is not love isn't it? You cannot understand why Taiwanese people enjoy Japanese culture because you said " I never purchase Japan products, i will tour all world, but i will never tour Japan." such attitude won't help you understand Japan.
I have different political (historical) view from some of people here, but that won't affect the fact that i like Chinese people and culture. I can change my name to loveChina.

compare what Japan did with China, i think i am a kindess people.
Well, I dislike people who are lie, you can call yourself lovetaiwang or loveJapan, and I don't care.
But, I very interested how to you face Japan tourist purchase sex service in Taiwan; they have one map introduction about Taiwan¡¯s red light. Maybe you will say Taiwan is free market, it is normal.
Why Japan can learn the attitude from German about how to face their crime? If Japan government changes his evil policy, like German apologies his crime, and executive in his action, then we will accept Japan¡¯s apologies.
We are seeking a peaceful Japan!

why hate Japanese?
China and Japan now are interdependent economically. Japan is China's largest trading partner, and China is Japan's second largest trading partner. So the people-to-people hatred wouldn't make any difference.
Hatred and Love are both freedom that one should enjoy. why not let it be.

reply to "why amercian don't hate japanese"
why american don't hate japanese?because he was the totally winner of the battle.Although japanese successfully sneak attacked the pearl harbor but he also suffered fatal A-bomb attack which killed hundreds of thousands of japanese and let more became disabled.beside we have mentioned above,The US also own basis in japan and deployed their army there.Frequently we hear the American soldiers rape the japanese girls and can't be sentenced by japanese court.
in a word, compare with japan the US is the absolute winner,so why should a winner hate a failer?

Disgraceful, irresponsible, outrageous!
This September I will turn 24. Only 24, yet I still feel the anger and hatred felt by fellow older Chinese men and women. Not because I learned what happened during the occupation of China but because of how and what current Japan does. It is that alone that angers me.
Failing to admit their crimes and even tried to glory their past actions. Not only that, they tried to spread this false information to younger Japanese - as a result caused the younger generation to produce hatred for Chinese people for bothering them over a 'normal' war. I forgot to add, not only was there mass rapes, massacres and torture. Camps/factories were also set up so that Japanese scientists could study how their newly produced chemicals would work on human beings - Chinese people.
Ok this was in the past. But to try to destroy and rewrite all this history is totally unacceptable! Utter disgrace to the race of human beings!

Japan bashing
This is a sad, pathetic topic. You don't see China-bashing in Japan like this. Most younger Japanese have nothing but respect and admiration for China.
Another reason you don't see the level of vitriol from Japanese is because, unlike another country I will not name, it is an opensociety where people are free to express their opinions and channel their energies and passions and even rebel without restraint by the government. In another country that I will not name, bashing Japan is covertly encouraged by the government as an outlet for youthful expression and rebellion. Better to have them directing their anger at an old paper tiger like Japan than looking honestly at their own situation and society.
There's also an essential difference between Japan and another country which I will not name. Japan did not have a 10-year period where its society was turned upside down and many were sent to the countryside, imprisoned, and worse. Japan's soldiers did not kill its own young people in a large public gathering in 1989. Japan did not starve its own citizens from 1958-61. It has committed many atrocities, to be sure. But is that worse than a country that torments and kills its own citizens and fails to atone or even acknowledge it?
By the way. I'm an American and my father was a POW in a Japanese prison camp. He has forgiven his captors for the brutal treatment he endured and has even visited Japan. He told me that if he let rage consume him it would kill him more surely than he could have been killed as a POW.
He is a wise, caring man. I have learned a lot from him about forgiveness and understanding.
