Beijing, Taipei museums set to host joint exhibition (20081222-01)
Artifacts from Beijing's Palace Museum and Taipei's "National Palace Museum" are on course to be displayed together after nearly six decades of separation.
The 43-year-old Taipei museum, which has 650,000 pieces of antiques moved from the Palace Museum in 1948 and 1949, and the Palace Museum in Beijing - better known as the Forbidden City - which houses over 1 million items - have never exchanged collections for exhibition.

As India rapidly modernises, clean chins are becoming the rule among young people, said the book's author, Richard McCallum, who spent months on the road documenting the bushiest bristles he could find before they disappear forever.

Special unit to tackle gangs (20081222-03)
A new division is being planned to combat growing mafia-style gangs in the country, a senior official of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) has said.
"Based on the resources of the existing organized crime investigation division, a special department will be set up to tackle the problem," a director of the organized crime investigation division, who declined to be named for security reasons, told China Daily.
