随心而行 = 可不可以理解为‘随心所欲’？

而“随心所欲”当然不是follow the way your heart tells you的本意

随心所欲：do whatever you want to


逐梦而为：是说一个人不能没有梦想，有了梦想能比没有梦想走得更远，达到更美

而“梦寐以求”是说做梦都想得到的，“以求”的往往是外物或他人，而不纯粹指心中的理想


我的胸襟也许还没那么开阔，就像上次在“译海撷金”里我大批“海外逸士”

不过他出言不逊在先，就知道他对上次我的反驳耿耿于怀

甚至还说“中国人拍马屁层出不穷”

他真以为自己是台湾人就不是中国人了？


不过事后想想，也没必要跟这种人计较太多

经历这件事，我想我会更加去包容假、丑、恶


我始终相信

世界真、善、美，而心中也总有一个“桃花源”

如果直接翻译成汉语
follow the way your heart telles you和do  whatever you want to
区别并不大
怎么想就怎么做吧

但为什么差不多的汉语意思这两种表达也有明显的差异
your heart tells you和you want 有区别吗
follow the way和do有区别吗

也许这句话与汉语 随心所欲 有含义上的类似
但却有内涵的差别

举类似的例子
英语中的单词individualism翻译成什么好呢？
这个词的反义词是collectivism（集体主义）
那individualism是否就是个人主义呢

在汉语中，个人主义往往是带有贬义的，
但在英语中，individualism却是强调个人个性的展现，尤其是美国人强调的liberty的一方面
所以，这个词的准确理解应该是个性主义,与中国人所说的“个人主义”还是有本质的区别

follow the way you heart tells you 的表达角度与do whatever you want  to不同
就决定了翻译成汉语的选词不同
意义上也有本质的不同

随心所欲：随着自己的意思，想要干什么就干什么
结合全篇上下文的语句
这里也不能够翻译成“随心所欲”，对吧：）

follow the way your heart tells you
就是说：我们总是处在决定和选择之中，决定一件事情是否该做，是否值得做；尤其是面对职业生涯和人生方向时，选择我们认为重要的，放弃我们认为不重要的。而这个过程往往是艰难的，痛苦的，我们会反复地衡量得与失，理性地分析对与错。也许只有当我们静心独处，仔细倾听内心的声音的时候，才能做出一个不后悔的选择。
这句话主要是说一个人只要有梦想，就勇往直前，不要犹豫，也不要怕困难。

do what you love and love what you do
就是一个人要有事做才能感到充实。不应游手好闲、虚度年华。
但是，往往现在很多人做的事情并非是自己喜欢的或者是自己的爱好所在。
往往是为了生计而奔忙，小时候的许多爱好兴趣都渐渐忘记、丢失了。
如果所从事的工作就是自己的兴致所在，那是莫大的幸福，无论这份工作是邮递员、还是司令官、是医生、还是教师……

love the people who love you too
按照定语从句的直译，确实是“爱你的人，你也去爱他们”，也就是“以爱报爱”
但我原本的意思是把这里的定语从句理解成非限制性定语从句
就是说，去爱别人，你也就得到别人的爱
而且不是因为一个人被爱了才去爱他人
人与人之间最温暖最伟大的就是爱，我们应该爱每一个人，甚至对自己有敌意的人，我们也应该去爱他们
就像汶川地震，我们不能凌驾自然，但人间的爱能感动大地
同胞遇难，我们不禁泪下，这就源自内心的爱

love the world presented to you
就是心怀大世界，去追求和创造世界的真善美，也包容和改变世界的假丑恶
但真善美永远是世界的底色
人与自然、人类之间和谐相处
我在世界怀里，世界也在我心中 - 天人合一

On the basis you are a good person  with a 'good heart' "follow the the way your heart tells you" means to follow you instincts and do the right thing just because it feels the right thing to do - it could be repaying a debit you don't really have to pay or visiting a friend when its inconvenient.

"do whatever you want" means just that and has no noble connotations.
