There are some reasons about it:
First: because we Chinese looks like South Korean , the nose, the eyes, the hair and so on. Although we speak the different languages,we can easily accept the different cultures each other.
Second: We are not far from them,We can easily get their cultures and others.Especially The national cultures. So there is a clan named Korea in China .
Third: The Corean are nearly all the patriots, they love their country, and revolt at Japan. They never forget that Japanese ever invaded they.never forget! Include their children^^^^^^^^^

CHINESE, KOREAN, BLACK MOVIES ALL GOOD
I was raised on old Black movies done from the 1915's to the 1960's by a few great Black American filmmakers. The most famous was Oscar Micheaux ( see his info
http://community.webtv.net/nubianem
) who began to make films in 1915 IN ORDER TO COUNTER THE RACIST PROPAGANDA FILM 'BIRTH OF A NATION' that was made by D.W. Griffith to demonize the character of American Blacks (YES, THIS RACIST ACT HAS BEEN GOING ON AND THE FIRST WELL-MADE MOVIE WAS 'BIRTH OF A NATION' THE MOST RACIST FOR ITS TIME.
Oscar Mischeaux countered this racist and negative film with his own films which gave a positive message. From the first film made to the present, all if not most films made about Blacks, Chinese, American Indians and other people were based on racist stereotypes. In fact the same type of people are responsible for these racist films like 'BIRTH OF A NATION' 'KING KONG' and all the 'comedy' movies shown.
Back in the mid 1970's Philipino karate movies with people like TONY FERRER 'TONY FALCON' came around. Bruce Lee followed. All types of Kung-Fu films followed and they gave a better idea of what Chinese culture in Hong Kong was all about. There was only one Black actor in any Hong Kong film I ever saw. The other one was Kareem Abdul Jebar in 'Game of Death' with Bruce Lee, made in the 1970's.
Today, thanks to Chinese martial arts movies, MORE AFRO-BRAZILIAN MARTIAL ARTS MOVIES ARE BEING MADE, SHOWING AFRICAN MARTIAL ARTS LIKE 'CAPOEIRA ANGOLA' see
http://www.planetcapoeira.com
I know Nigerian film makers were looking for expertise to start making Capoeira Angola martial arts films in Brazil and Nigeria (
http://www.naijarules.com
)
Dascoscos was the first non-Brazilian to make a Capoeira film, using the Afro-Brazilian martial art. Brazilians have done so before. Today we find karate, kungfu, boxing and capoeira along with other martial arts types in the tekken videos.
THE JAPANESE USED TO MAKE MARTIAL ARTS FILMS and one of their movies always had some big Black marine playing the old racist stereotype that the Japanese copied from the WHITE YANKS, of showing Black people in an insulting manner.
WHY KOREAN MOVIES ARE POPULAR
Hong Kong Chinese kung fu movies were popular around the world for a long time. Movie actors like Wang Yu, Chen Sing and movies and stars from Run Run Shaw or Golden Harvest companies were always great actors and martial artists.
Korean movies seem to include what many people like about the historical past of nations. I love to watch movies about Egypt, Kush, Nigeria and the Black Moorish period (like the one with Sydney Potier ).
Korean non-historical movies shown on AZN Channel are good, so are Chinese movies and others. There is one show that is particularly entertaining and it is Korean. Its about this guy who likes a girl but the girl's boss likes her. The girl is sort of tough in her treatment of the guy who wants to stay in her apartment at the top of a building.
By looking at that show, one clearly sees that men and women are basically the same all around the world. It surely removes the idea that men always have their way and women always agree on everything that men want done.

i am not agree with yours points!
sometime before i had the same idea as yours, but now i am not. the amusing, comical plays at begining, without deep impression, new deep insight from play at the end. just like a colorful dream disillusion with nothing.

Korean movies mainly attract the Chinese audience due to the following:
The culture between Hangul and China is extremely similar-
The family values and way the relationships propels and progresses correlates with romantic ways of the east-
Physical similarities giving us common grounds on what is attractive to our visual choosings-
Hardly mentioned but Korean music that accompany most of the shows are superb-
Behind the glamor of things there are also the irritable parts:
If you watch enough of them they become far too predictable-
There is near certain some sort of 'love triangle'-
The whole status and heirarchy discrimination is practiced in extreme-
The actor/actresses cries so much that the feeling of grief have totally diminished and perceived as commonality to the viewers-

All the Korean movies have the commonness: good appearances and positive living attitudes. In comparative with Chinese tragedy movies, most of the Korean movies are reflected positive living attitudes and the real lives. I dislike the Korean movies before until our company girls recommend to me the famous Korean movie my wild girlfriend, and from then on I change my opinion to the Korean movie, when being in bad temper, I will watch a Korean movie to relax.

oh well...dont like korean movies..asbolutely crap...so are chinese movies...
actually chinese movies are worse..dont even know why they make them...they call it comedy, but its not..cos its jus ...
Movies are just another form of entertainment and expression of art. There is no code movie directors or script writers must follow. They don't have to make you think or change your life. Most movies are just entertainment for a break out of the normal day routine. I do find it strange that in your opinion Chinese films are a waste. If you're looking to movies to provoke good thoughts to benefit your life, you are looking in the wrong place..
In my opinion most of the movies that release here in the States are a waste of money. Iny my opinion, the horror films have grown old and ridiculous, not to mention trashy.. The comedy films in my opinion have become nothing more than a gateway to show bad family values. I am more interested in older t.v shows and films. I have watched plenty of funny Chinese films and I know of a small share of Korean films. To label all Chinese and Korean movies junk just because those you watched did not hold your interest is close minded.

We cannot simply say that chinese movies are worse than Janpanse or korean ones. Ours have our own characteristics. why we should be like others. yes, we do not have handsome actors or beautiful actress, but have you ever find out that they have been made up by the bands cloths and sometimes because of the light or other equipment, they become perfect. learn is important but do not accept all. Chinese young people seem to be very mad of the things from abroad. It has the problem that our social system is very complicated. Few er and fewer people can sit down quietly to learn more just for themselves. Do everything needs to have a purpose and get the profit from it. The society is a big fact. if they do not want to face it, they will choose to face the unreal world. the movies of Korean are like those. Escape the world, that is also the reason why the series of Harry Potter are so popular in the world.
but please remember 民族的才是世界的

because china's movies is so hidebound and it always copy other's idea, lack of it's characteristic.
also in china the diathesis is a little low.

Kind of illusion
Korean movies are somthing too perfect.
You can hardly imagine the same story happens beside you.
But whatever's perfect is temptable and chasing by the mass,
so it's unweird to see so many ones indulge in those movies even adults.
That's totally because that'a the right thing you're always dreaming about.

I like the ones with romance though they are very unrealistic. Men aren't like that, but its nice to watch. I'm in love with love.....

In the first instance, I want to make a declaration that I don't like Korean movies ,but what I want to emphasize is that I like Korean series.
because compared to many of our Chinese series, Korean series look more actual and easy to be embraced.
