How many mining mishaps will happen???

About recent five years, people are really shocked by all kinds of accidents about mining. Mountains of innocent labors lost their lives. And I believe that the reports just show a few. As mining mishaps arose officers’ attention, but why such accidents can not be reduce? Maybe industrial structure remains irrational and deep-seated problems in our economic system have not been solved. Problems of the ecological environment are outstanding. Local protectionism remains a problem despite repeated orders to ban it, and the order of the market economy is yet to be fully rectified.
And those immoral private bosses who ignore the importance of production safety, they enjoy the high incomes of “their mine” while show indifference of workers’ lives.
It is hard to say that how many mining mishaps will happen in the future. Just want god blesses the poor labors that are the bread-winner of families. Oh, I forgot, maybe they do not hear about who is god!

Officials sacked after mine fire kills 25 in C. China
ZHENGZHOU - Four government officials were removed from their posts Tuesday after a coal mine fire killed 25 workers in central China, local authorities said Tuesday.
The fire started with electric cables at 8:30 p.m. Monday in a main pit of Dongxing Coal Mining Co. in Xinmi City in Zhengzhou, capital of Henan Province, when 31 workers were working underground, according to the Information Office of the Zhengzhou City Government.
Six miners were saved in a rescue operation that ended at about 2 a.m. Tuesday.
The dead miners were identified as migrants from provinces including Henan, Anhui and Sichuan.
The victims had no oxygen tanks when the fire started and were quickly overcome by the enormous amount of carbon monoxide, said Feng Songjian, an officer with the emergency response center of Xinmi.

Have you check the coke price trend lately?
Qinhuangdao coke trading market due to weak demand in the market, falling by RMB 20-30/mt compared with the previous week. Coke inventory at Qinhuangdao port is currently on the rise.
Datong quality mix coke  is offered at RMB 740-750/mt  down 2.7 percent week on week in March 2010.

Coke export price has been down since Oct 2008. Demand from Japan, India, Korea and Thailand those major coke importers dropped.

What mining mishaps relevant is the demand for coal , not coke.
In 2009 the Chinese coal import volume amounts to 125,000,000 tons , compares in 2008 to grow 211.9%

Another source: Customs administration data demonstrated after 2009 our country coal import considerable increased, in 2010 January coal import volume close record high spot, compared with the same time last year grows 438.3% as before, amounts to 16,078,000 tons.

Ha, you're a NOBODY !! Don't you understand a NOBODY!!!!
And so are all other 'sei chow gow's !

Your info is incomplete & irrelevant.
Besides Asian countries like Japan, S.Korea, India & Thailand,
EU & US are also major importers of cheap chinese coke,
in fact they're the biggest !

So be prepared for tariff on coke exports will go higher & higher !!!

from 60% to 200% - 600% !!!
That's the result for  attacking our poor miners!

Correction didn't check the latest data before posting. He only drew his old information to agrue to scream and bark and insulted me .

Steel industry has been in stagnant. Why USA and EU need to import a lot of coke from China? In 2009 USA even exported coke to China.

It's the demand for coal that's revelant for mining mishaps not coke.

Here the data from gov website compiled by customs dept. At the 3rd paragraph, it says Japan, India are among the 4 export markets.

The title is "How many mining mishaps will happen???"
the future tense---of course I look for the later figures, not the older info to presume the near future trend.

In the milk power melamine case, the victims are the Chinese babies but Correction twisted it to that the victims are the Chinese dairy industry. He commdemned the foreign milk power company for hurting Chinese milk power producers.

China defends export restrictions
China has defended its export curbs on some raw materials used to make steel, aluminium and chemical products.

On Wednesday, the US, with the EU and Mexico, said they had asked the World Trade Organization to set up a dispute settlement panel on the matter.

They say China's export policy drives up world prices for the materials.

But China's Ministry of Commerce told AFP the aim of the "measures on some raw materials is to protect the environment and our limited resources".

Protectionism claims

The US says the materials at the heart of the dispute are bauxite, coke, fluorspar, magnesium, manganese, silicon metal, silicon carbide, yellow phosphorus and zinc.

The raw materials case has an impact on billions of dollars of global trade, the US says.

"Working together with the European Union and Mexico, we tried to resolve this issue through consultations, but did not succeed," said Debbie Mesloh, a spokeswoman for the office of the United States Trade Representative.

There are a number of simmering trade disputes between the two countries covering several areas, with counter-claims of protectionism and a large US trade deficit with China.

The US wants to see Chinese restrictions lessened on US agriculture, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications and business services, and improved protection of intellectual property rights and co-operation on clean energy technology.

And in September the US imposed punitive duties of up to 35% on imports of Chinese-made tyres.

China responded with an "anti-dumping" probe into US car parts and chicken meat imports.

Recently China also announced it would investigate suspicions that the three big US carmakers were getting government subsidies, or selling their products in China at less than the cost of production.

Sustainable development

The latest complaint to the WTO came after consultations failed to resolve the dispute.

It comes after trade talks last week between the US and China, in which Beijing agreed to reopen its market to imports of US pork.

Referring to the minerals dispute, a Chinese commerce ministry statement said: "The regulations conform to the needs of China's own [sustainable] development, while also advancing China's efforts towards the sustainable development of the global economy."

It added: "The products being disputed actually form a very small percentage of Sino-US and Sino-EU trade."
