US territories, the Marianas and Guam are pretty close to East Asia if not in it.
The US also has the largest populations of East Asians outside of their home countries.
The US is still the largest economy in the world and the largest market for most East Asian export goods.
Still if you use the strictest sense, Japan, China, HK, Macou, Ta!wan, and the two Koreas you might not include them.

I think China, Japan and Korea then should be admitted to NAFTA.

I doubt China would be willing to lower its tarrifs on US goods to the point to qualify for NAFTA.
which leads to your problem, you are comparing apples to oranges. NAFTA is a binding trade agreement while the "east asian community" is an international origanization set up to deal with a whole range of issues. Perhaps you would want these nations to be admitted into the Organization of American States.
If you mean the Organization of American states, well Japan, China, and South Korea are already Observers despite not being in the Americas.

I think US and china should be members
Due to the global symbiotic relationship I feel US should be more inclusive and so should china if china falls America would fall and if US falls then China would fall also(not saying this is good or bad it is what it is) or at least go back in time a bit and reverse growth that has occured .I feel that China loves her people and if a better way at dealing with human rights issues and individual freedoms are comeing to pass.USA loves her people too and most of her people come from all around the world,USA needs to be more of a memebr of global communities and less the bully or big brother dictateing it's desires.I am so glad we elected Obama and seem to be on the right track towards regaining this relationship. After the sadistic bully we had for last 8 yrs USA has no right to pass judgement only offer advice.
Have a great day

Very well said. But the US should be paying compensation to all those she has inflicted appalling damages. Starting with mass murder of two million Vietnamese through indiscriminate bombings and the use og Chemical and Biological agents.
How can the people of Asia (and Latin America and Africa) trust the USA when the present National Security Advisor, General Jones vowed to carry on the genocidal policies of Herr Henry Kissinger?
.. read on.
"Depopulation should be the highest priority of U.S. foreign policy towards the Third World... Wherever a lessening of population can increase the prospects for such stability, population policy becomes relevant to resources, supplies and to the economic interests of U.S." — National Security Adviser Henry Kissinger Nobel Peace Prize winner, National Security Memo 200, Implications of World Wide Population Growth for U.S. security & Overseas Interests" April 24, 1974.
Jones stated in a speech at the 45th Munich Conference on Security Policy at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof on February 8, 2009:
“Thank you for that wonderful tribute to Henry Kissinger yesterday. Congratulations.
As the most recent National Security Advisor of the United States, I take my daily orders from Dr. Kissinger,
filtered down through Generaal (sic) Brent Scowcroft and Sandy Berger, who is also here. We have a chain of command in the National Security Council that exists today.

How do you know? What scienific experiments have you conducted to confirm this finding? What other umbrellas did you test? How much do you know about Chinese umbrellas?
Chinese Umbrellas
The history of Chinese Umbrellas
Chinese Umbrellas @ Oriental-Decor.com
Chinese umbrellas are the earliest known umbrellas used, and have existed for over 2,000 years. In the beginning, Chinese umbrellas were made of silk, and later paper umbrellas were created. The Chinese lacquered and waxed their Chinese umbrellas to repel water, so they could be used in the rain. They were among the first to do this. The frames of most umbrellas in China were and are made from bamboo or mulberry bark. The Chinese painted their Chinese umbrellas as well. The royal families typically carried red or yellow umbrellas while the common people would carry blue ones.
The oil paper Chinese umbrellas from Hunan and Fujian provinces have the best reputation for quality. Each Chinese umbrella from that region is delicately handcrafted and painted with beautiful patterns or designs. The paper shades of these Chinese umbrellas are hand-painted with various designs, such as landscapes, figures, animals (birds and cranes are very popular) and flowers. Chinese writing can also be found on these umbrellas.
After the shade of a Chinese umbrella has been painted, it is coated with oil to make it lasting and durable. What's more, each Chinese umbrella must be made with bamboo that is at least five-years-old. This is to ensure that each umbrella frame is strong yet has enough elasticity that it won't crack. Each Chinese umbrella frame is also treated so that they are resistant to insects.
Chinese umbrellas have been used for different reasons since their invention. The Chinese umbrella is often used for protection from the sun. Royalty was often shielded from the sun by large Chinese umbrellas. Many women carry umbrellas too, which has grown into a fashionable trend in many countries throughout the world. The Chinese umbrella has also influenced men to use them as well. In the West, umbrellas became popular as a fashion for men in the early 1800s. As well, Chinese umbrellas can be seen in shows and various acrobatic events, such as a tight-rope walker who uses one for balance.

Chinese Umbrellas
Th ...
Chinese umbrellas are indeed nice
If you are in Southern China. In beijing they are cheap, flimsy, and generally unattractive. Whenever I take a trip down to Shanghai or points further south I make a point to bring home something I might not be embarrassed being seen with.
This all said, my favorite umbrella is from Japan. Too bad I left it in the US...

No.
That's because if anyone press "vote" button, the thread will be pushed to the top.
