Okay, Tradervic, I will give you my views but meanwhile, do me a favour ....

Today, after your easter dinner, go SHAVE OFF your eyebrows.

Please do us that good deed - shave and pluck out all your eyebrows !!
... the wife waxed them off when she was practicing her beauty shop skills on me... <dramatic pause to let that picture sink in> ... suffice to say, I prefer my bushy caterpillars where they are.

One last Uncle Buck Quote...

Buck: Well, well, well, they certainly are scraping the bottom of the barrel for cheerleaders these days.
Tia: What are you doing here?
Buck: We were just driving by to get some ice cream. Thought you might like to join us.
Tia: I said I would be home at 10. It's not even 9!
Buck: Who said anything about that? I thought you might like to join us for some ice cream. Maybe your Bug here can join us. We can talk about burying the hatchet. You know what a hatchet is, don't you, Bug?
Bug: It's an ax?
Buck: Sort of, yeah, yeah. I got one in my car if you'd like to see it.
Bug: I'll pass.
Buck: Fair enough. I like to carry it, you never know when your going to need it. A situation may come up say for example, someone has been drinking, and about to drive a loved one home, then I'd like to know I have it. Not to kill, no. Just to maim. Take a little off the shoulder. Swish! The elbow. Slash! Shave a little meat off the old kneecap. Fowap! Ooooo! You got both kneecaps? I like to keep mine razor sharp. Sharp enough you can shave with it. Why I've been known to circumcise a gnat. You're not a gnat are you, Bug? Wait a minute, bug, gnat. Is there a little similarity? Whoa, I think there is! Ha ha ha. You understand what I'm talking about? I don't think you do. I'll be right back. Heh heh heh heh.
[walks away]
Tia: I'm sorry.
Bug: Look, I think you'd better split. I don't exactly want him to go berserk with an ax on me.
Tia: He's all talk.
[Buck pulls out a small hatchet from his car]
Buck: Here it is! Come over, come on, I want to show it to you. Maybe later. Okay

Mrs Tradervic SURE knows best.  She is a good woman, indeed ... meaning ...

Your SKIN is sure TOUGH

I know of people who WAX their armpit hair and leg hair ... BUT

never heard of people who wax their eyebrows.

I had waxing done on my toughest skin once, and tears dripped from my eyes immediately.

So, tell us, did Mr Tradervic tear from centre-apart or sideways-close in?

Well, I think no one has ever done that (waxing) on a human facial skin ... you must be the first and only one.  You sure it was "beauty" shop she owns?  Anyway, why should I doubt Mrs Tradervic?

Glad she understands and gives the PERFECT EXECUTION. piiaaaaaaahk

Hey, say thanks to Mrs Tradervic (not your mother), your WIFE, from all of us.

[Blue] LAUGHING OUT LOUD !!!!

Confused ? #48

Okay Whampoa, you got me confused - you angry that someone had the audacity to show that P.R. China has brats like the rest of the world, or that people have comments about the brat in photo?

So... you agree with the brat's behavior? ...
Well, is there anything that you are not confused with?

I asked you to go and have your eyebrows shaved or plucked (like my mother used to pluck the chicken's feathers) and you went to "wax" them ! ! !

First, I would say that the boy is spoilt for toys.  The issue of "agreeing" with the boy's behaviour is not here.  I said his behaviour is "not seriously wrong" for behaving as a boy HIS AGE!  He's still a child, a kid.

As for Zhoupu's "audacity to show ...", you seem to have already confirmed he is a Chinese.  Is that true and proven?  Well, even if it is, that's shouldn't be good enough for you, should it?  I think Zhoupu can do better.  He may have the "audacity" to show ... but not the "audacity" to express an opinion.  Would he dare say something to those wicked adults here?  Where is he?  Say something, Zhoupu!

Indeed, Zhoupu still owes me an answer in another thread !

YES, I am DEFINITELY angry with those wicked adults I lashed for demonising the little kid, suggesting that he should be executed, condemned to asylum or crystal-balled his future in jail.

How well-behaved were you, Tradervic when you were the boy's age and even after you've grown older?  How come you're not hanged, not in the padded house or in jail?

Mr Naive loves execution, he probably loves you!

3 scenarios ...

First, let me confess that I did not read the link zhoupu posted until after much later, probably, after Mr Tradervic's post appeared.

But whether before or after, the extended facts in the link have not changed my mind over what I said earlier.

3 scenarios can happen ...

Scenario 1 - the mother gives in to the child to avoid an embarrassing situation, and we will see what we see in the last picture in the link, a happy child and a placid mother purchasing from the toy shop.

Scenario 2 - the mother disciplines the child in public to show "who's boss".  She slaps and smacks the little boy in front of everyone.  Here, we will see the outrage from the public and their sympathy for the boy being beaten up by an angry mother.

Scenario 3 - the mother negotiates with the child.  This is exactly what's happening as we see it in the pictures.  Of course, in all negotiations as we know them, the mother could have pulled the child aside and reasoned with him, but with a crying kid, you can try !

The fact that I see the Chinese people in the surrounding are ignoring the mother and son shows that the mother is not in harm's way.  A forumite criticised the policeman nearby for doing nothing shows that the policeman is indeed sane and more sensible than the forumite who is probably either crazy or paranoid.

Of course, in a negotiation, the result can go either way.  If, in a negotiation, the result must go a certain way, then it is NOT negotiation but a dictator talking to a subject!  Understand, imbeciles?  In this case, the mother lost in the negotiation (round 1) but that doesn't mean that she will continue to lose in every negotiation if this happens again.  But the appreciative outcome from this hard-fought negotiation, as I see it, is that the mother did make an effort to change the child.

Will she learn from this lesson and persevere with her changes?  Well, that would be an interesting thing to watch.

That's my opinion!

gotta say Whampoa... I never struck my mom, never choked her...never considered it. I guess that makes me 'christlike' right?
What mom in her right mind would buy the toy after that shameful display...the boy needs a stern lashing.
Anyone that thinks otherwise is not fit to be a parent IMHO.

Before you attempt to make it an issue of US vs. Them....read this disclaimer.

It was, of course, very embarrassing for the mother as we all have seen it.

But, I did give you a choice and you can always choose Scenario 2 and discipline the ill-behaved child and SMACK him on his ears till he goes deaf and on his face till he goes blue.  WHO's going to stop you from you doing that?

In a fight with a child, the adult will surely win, and you think the mother, stockly built, cannot handle the small kid?  It is a question of whether she wants to do it or not.

Tekvicious, what you're suggesting in PARENTING is VIOLENCE DOES IT!

Of course, domestic violence is not unknown.  I know of  a mixed marriage where the husband belted his son who was only 2 years' old while his Chinese wife sat by and cried.  The mother definitely can handle her 2-year old naughty son but needed patience.  But she can't handle a violent adult, her husband, when he chose "belting" to discipline the toddler.

The above is a true story .... and I AM NOT MENTIONING USA OR ANY AMERICAN OR GWEILO.  SO, read carefully!

****

Of course, there's the reason why I SHAMED those adults for demonising the child and Tekvicious for advocating violence here to deal with the problem.

The mother in the controversy could have chosen the easy way out like Tekvicious would do it (scenario 2), but she didn't.

She chose patience, letting the child hit and choked her instead of other way round.  She's a humane mother and the child is still a child.  I understand this but I am not sure the rest of you do.

<snort> Methinks Tek...

... is suggesting that the mom go into Sinbad mode on that brat.

As for waxing question - one single pull per eyebrow.  She was trying to practice on someone that would not stiff her on a tip and/or possibly sue her if the pull was not done just right.

I do thank you whampoa - because you could of asked if she was practicing for... brazilians. <Even longer dramatic pause to let the idea sink in>

Don't defend a violent man [slapping thy head] ! It all started with a thought and Tekvicious is definitely not guiltless.

I know what waxing is like ... or I would not tell you how my "tears dripped" !

As for your Mrs, I am grateful to her ... she knows best !  Btw, did you wear a hide or a skin?

That, I am becoming curious.
