my hero is Daniele Jenni,
who sadly passed away only a few weeks, after organising that demo, where the svp with their neonazi friends hidden in the crowd were not to let made a circuit in our green sandstone built little capital.
some of my relatives are proud that we are relatives to the national so called saint nikolaus von der flue, not me figuring out this is just
another lie. that man lived for 20 years (15th century) in the woods not because of faith but because he couldn't cope the bias verlogene society.
some of my relatives are in modesto california and i dont agree with them as well since the were pro bush what a shame.
me since feb 2007 for Barack Hussein Obama, my swiss forum collegues wrote their fingers wound to prove that time is not ready.

What is the point of your comment? We all understand that you are not enjoying so much your life in Swisstzerland. Is it a reason to criticize democratic systems? I agree with you...this country is a sleepy one, not so dynamic economicaly and quite conservative.
But the problem is more about cultural matters and traditions, don't you think?
People could change this country....but the majority doesn't really want to. That's all. And you, you are not happy with that.
Just move to France, Italy or any other latin country where people are warmer and more sociable.
Also, judging a system through statement like you do leads to nowhere. It's pretty clear that Switzerland see itself as winner because it succeed in not being involved during WW and didn't have to pay any price (victims, lands, destructions...) as any other european countries.

"There are racist sentiments in Switzerland," said Daniele Jenni, a Green party member in Berne's city parliament. "It is not the absolute majority of people but it is there."
Mr Jenni runs an opposition group to the SVP, which refused to comment for this article due to what a spokesman called "biased reports".
The opposition group is called "The Black Sheep" after a poster that has proved the most controversial element of the SVP's campaign.

IMHO war and win just dont go together war is always to loose, loose of live, loose of dignity and much more, the some who make their
profit or oeconomy shine are just not my case. the us have also lost all respect with their nonsense wars all around this world.
shame on america !
swiss warmongers were once the best fighters in europ, protecting the kings and queens, they were rough people and not afraid and
had to do something to feed their families, but the nationalism in europ didn't bring anything to the development of my people the
opposite, as you see in my writing our brains are not working properly and this is due to the double standards that are always promoted
here.

since 2000 i am very loudly claiming that the financial directions the west is going are so wrong, they made me suffer quite
a bit for saying so, but i was right. this doesn't make me proud the opposite we have lost so much time, 15 or 20 year going backwards

btw swiss is ok for me, i am only around non-swiss and its getting better and better, waiting for mr, said the shoe thrower fm baghdad
to come to swiss too, so with all this great people we can mutually change this place. cheers

Last Sunday, the Swiss overwhelmingly voted for their country to retain free people movement rights across the whole of the E.U.
This vote was heard loud and clear in Germany, Brussels and anywhere where such opinions matter - including Bulgaria and Rumania.

Actually that claim is far off tangent - there are few countries in Europe that are more dynamic than Switzerland as economic data readily substantiate. It is a sleepy place, to be sure, from which no revolutionary froth is forthcoming. It's also a frustrating country - as you can see in bude - for people who try to rub other people the wrong way. In the end, the ticks - ask her, she told us here herself she was a 'tick' - get run into the dustbins where they are left to rot. Switzerland is a very clean country... ...and racism is not tolerated very well there, hence 'heroes' of Ms Jenny's stature.

We cannot march 'history' again, we can revisit it, review it and draw conclusions. Yours evidently are over the top, emotional and irrational.
Remember, Zheng He was an 'Arab' - sayeth Joe the Ching. The Arabs taught you many lessons but you learnt them so well you forgot ythe names of your various teachers.

we only had to vote because the ultra right & so racist jsvp was eagerly collecting a racist initiative, but one good thing happend
in canton zurich in the future the rich rich cannot just sit on their money by flat rate pauschal tax, and the rest of the country will

My post often sounds very naive, because we sometimes deal with people who negate simple facts or reality. I try to do it simple because of my low level in english
and because I want to make myself clear...
Unfortunately, I rarely succeed
I often been to Switzerland... I had the same feeling there than in Austria... an austere and conservative country where everybody drive expensive cars.
Still, I've been able to get drunk and scream in the night with some local buddies and we didn't get any problem with local authorities.

For those in the peanut gallery - there is a piece of background information that needs to be known. Unlike the U.S. and few select countries - a majority of European countries (along with P.R. China?)
do not automatically grant citizenship
to those who are born in their territory.
This generates a lot of issues - especially for those (maybe like Budebuai) who are born in a place like Switerland and are threatened by the local hillibillies (in this case the SVP).
There have been a series of debates and proposals in several countries to take the U.S. approach to those born in a country - but hillibillies - like the SVP, raise hell against the issue with a variety of fear tactics (in this latest case - a poster with black crows picking up Swiss passports).
The debate is also joined by folks like Jenni - who was part of the Swiss Green Party (mid left poltical spectrm). As it stands, with the question of easier travel and a smaller world in the process, many many countries have to deal with these questions.
In all honestly, this question in general could another thread - given there is a question about how P.R. China handles this question.
