Space walk planned in Shenzhou VII mission
The Shenzhou VII spacecraft and its carrier rocket were assembled on Thursday evening, the latest step toward the launch of China's third manned space mission.
A space walk has been planned. If realized, China will become the third country in the world to make a space walk.

JIUQUAN, Gansu, Sept. 24 (Xinhua) -- China will launch its third manned spacecraft Shenzhou-7 from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Gansu province in the northwest on Thursday, a spokesperson with China's manned space program said on Wednesday.
The launch window was set between 9:07 p.m. to 10:27 p.m. (Beijing Time), said Wang Zhaoyao.

Yep, good luck to 'em.
I'm still wondering why China feels the need to do this, at huge expense when they could, most likely, share Russian and US previous experience. There's a lot more to spend the money on, like the earthquake reconstruction, typhoon victims, compensation of victims of the tainted milk, families of victims of illegal nightclubs, law enforcement that actually works, civil servants salaries that are good enough to not allow corruption etc. Makes more sense to me and would definitely be a PR boost for the PRC.

Shenzhou VII lifts off tonight
Updated: 2008-09-25 06:52
JIUQUAN, Gansu -- Shenzhou VII will lift off between 9:07 pm and 10:27 pm Thursday, carrying three astronauts, one of who will become the first Chinese to walk in space, senior space program officials said Wednesday.
One of the astronauts, Zhai Zhigang will walk in space around 4:30 pm on Saturday, media reports said.
The spacecraft will carry astronauts Liu Boming and Jing Haipeng, too.
One of the major tasks of the three-day mission is extra-vehicular activity (EVA), or spacewalk in this case, mission spokesman Wang Zhaoyao said at a news conference Wednesday. The success of the task will mark a remarkable step forward for China.
The other tasks include releasing a small monitoring satellite and satellite data relay trials, said Wang, who is also deputy director of China's manned space program office.
"The Shenzhou VII mission marks a historic breakthrough in China's manned space program. It is a great honor for all three of us to be part of the mission, and we are fully prepared for the challenge," Zhai Zhigang said when he and the other two astronauts met the media Wednesday.
Tonight's mission will be the second stage of China's three-stage manned space program, which eventually is aimed at building a space lab and a space station by 2020.
Engineers began loading fuel in the carrier rocket at 4 pm Wednesday, a process that would take seven hours and meant the launch was "irreversible", Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center officials said.

would like to see a SPACE STATION first.
and space tourist visits that cost Rmb100,000 for a week's stay in space first!
maybe in stations that can house 500 people at any one time?
there can be weightless chamber experiences.
farming in space (with grain, vegetable, meat, milk) experiences.
dining in space.
games, special rides to take advantage of space.
Can make the first space station, maybe 1km in diametre by launching materials up on "Long March" rockets.
Have workers in space laboratory fit the station together nearby.
and developed a floating docking station, to reduce cost of launcth to space?
just guessing like crazy on economically viable programmes!
