Have you felt any improvement in air quality after Beijing imposed a traffic limit which ordered that vehicles, taxis and buses exclued, can only take roads on an alternate day.

Come on
Yes.I think the answer is definite.Since Beijing became a host of 2008 Olympic games, whatever in China has changed a lot.For example, more and more people are willing to pay their time for sports, and the majority of people have also studied a great number of dietary knowledge as well as more focus on healthy lifestyle. As far as environment is concerned,Chinese government has been doing its best to deal with the problem of environment, after all China is a developing country. As chinese,We more should understand it, to encourage it , to help it become one of the best countries in the world. We could date back last century.even London was also called 'fog capital'.Therefore it indicates that any country,if wants to develop, will have to pay
the price, including environment.
So I don't think that other countries have right to criticize China for environmental problem. When you want to have a complaint, you'd better speculate your own country, which was during the developing period at
first.
Come on China !!!
I am proud of you!!!

Manchester, I did notice one thing: it's strange how china is sometimes the "world number one", "progress", 10000000 millionaries countries", "modern", and sometimes it's just a"developing country".
Yes, it's just funny to play with words: but you know: after the OG, the fog will come back on Pekin, 16 cities in China will remain among 20 worst pollutated in the world, and last year, China lost the Changjiang dolphin: wich is a major species extinction. Not to mention incredible pollution from industry, in the river where 4/5 of fishes species are already extinct, etc etc... I agree with ou too, western is responsive in world pollution too, yes, that's true, but one thing I cannot acceptn is that every country follow is own development without learn lesson from what happen in ohter place. I really dont think china government "doing is best" for environment problem. I just think they just begin to realize what many specialist warn they from many years now, and they begin to move only because they realize china environment cost is quickly grow, some specialist says it could even threath progress...
While China spent billions in offensive weapon and continue useless and stupid things like increase missiles numberpointed to civilian target in taiwan, UN just finish to provide food help to some chinese place 2 years ago where peoples hunger.
Every country meet different problem: until now, the solutions in china ll come from outside, no really invovation in environment protection.
And china changed on many points, but not in some other points: just have a look of what happen in the "special protest place' in pekin during OG...
