Each year the games come with more carefully choreographed ceremonies, so I expect those to improve in 2008. I also expect lots of scandals because accusations in sports seem to be more common of late than in the past.

I wont be modest. I expect nothing less than a super event, something that the world never has experienced before. I expect China to present herself to the world as a hospitable, friendly and modern nation.
For the main actors (athlets) I hope that the Beijing games will be fair and scandal free. I know that this is wishful thinking but one can hope, at least.

Satsu,
Well, since every Olympics has been like that since Hitler upped the media ante, I don't really bother with it. Each year it becomes a larger media event and each year the ceremonies overshadow the athletes ever more. Not that I'm complaining, of course: I don't really care to watch sports and I think the Olympics is mostly an athletic freak show besides.

To show the world our five merits focus on decorum, manners, hygiene, disciplines and morals. Wherever you go, you will enjoy the pleasant surroundings and quality service. And what's more, we will cheer for every athlet who in accordance with Olympi Spirit come to China .

Actually I don't know who are laowais, but if it is what I think I can tell you that I'm fond of china with it's advantages and drawbacks. In spite of poverty, unpoliteness and polution I like your traditions and hard working people.

Just a game
in my opinion, Olympics in Beijing or in any other city does not have too much different. So do not pay too much attention to it. It is just a GAME. Do what you should do and act what you shoul be.
Yeah, it is our honour, then, do not forget that finishing every work is our duty at the same time.
