8 years old, is far too young for a wife !
I think also, more than 60 years age difference
between the husband and the wife
to probably be too much
a couple seperated by 60 years may not share much

but I think as a rule
girls should not be married before they are 12 years old
and not to men older than say, 70
I think 60 years age difference is simply too great

it was nomal in the old china that the girl or the boy got married under their parents' control.
as i know, it definitely isn't ture in islatic world. in addition, some of my classmates are hui nationality, which are adherent to islam, you know, who are not the same to what you have said.

on the one hand an 8 year old is bound by her parents directions
while on the other hand, you say an 8 year old can make her own choices
obviously, you are as unstable as a parent, as you are as a member of humanity
