In China, even without FULL 3IR investment <either lack of PROFESSIONAL, skilled manpower OR lacking CAPITAL (maybe Central Bank restrictions)> THERE could be 100 cities in China HOSTING 100 chassis building plants --->using the same PLATFORM-engine-gearbox/critical component + cheap assembled component-sub assemblies imports.
That's about 3 plants in each of China's provinces plus extras in the 4 supercentres - Beijing, Yangtze, Sichuan and PEARL RIVER DELTA.
China will probably work on MOSTLY sedans, TO CONSERVE crude oil needs to less than 2 Tonnes per vehicle!!! It's the TRUCKS, MPV, SUV that gulps lots of fuel elsewhere!
