Prime Minister Cameron probably will say this

"It's NO BRAINER solution for British Club's economies. With 3IR, and low low US$1 to $5/hr labour cost outsourcing - and 6 to 7 million cars sold annually in British Club states, KMT region; and the CHEAP robotic operations in what is probably simple BISCUIT TIN CAN building."

"The two main business group JAQUAR LAND ROVER, LOTUS-PROTON-PERODUA, and the more classy Roll Royce-Bentley, Ashton Martin-Mini can be revitalized"

There will be NO PROBLEM with existing arrangements with marques from Germany, France, Italy, Korea & Japan. Heck! We'll even import the PLATFORMS, engines-gear box from the Yanks!"

IMAGINE!

In China, even without FULL 3IR investment <either lack of PROFESSIONAL, skilled manpower OR lacking CAPITAL (maybe Central Bank restrictions)> THERE could be 100 cities in China HOSTING 100 chassis building plants --->using the same PLATFORM-engine-gearbox/critical component + cheap assembled component-sub assemblies imports.

That's about 3 plants in each of China's provinces plus extras in the 4 supercentres - Beijing, Yangtze, Sichuan and PEARL RIVER DELTA.

China will probably work on MOSTLY sedans, TO CONSERVE crude oil needs to less than 2 Tonnes per vehicle!!! It's the TRUCKS, MPV, SUV that gulps lots of fuel elsewhere!

Cheerios!

Mr. Dan Akerson is thinking.......

"The new Automobile Industry model will definately create APPLE Inc. size profits and capitalization of nearer US$600 billion for both FORD and GM but how'd we organized the OUTSOURCING for the CHASSIS making - it could be almost extra US$2.4 trillion in extra investments, money that GM or FORD does not have, probably need those OFFSHORE US$15 trillion parked in London and Switzerland"

"The lure of small capital outlay and making GM a pure technological play and supply of MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY of the 3IR category, and supply the CRITICAL COMPONENTS, creating the platforms, models and MARKETING STORY is very attractive.

Yes, net profits of US$30 billion a year or more is possible as it'll probably be more efficient. Looks like the BRITS will get a EXTRA ADVANTAGE, we do have the UAW luggage at GM and FORD."

Jaguar Land Rover CEO, Dr. Ralf probably will think......

"We'll still need to have in house AUTOMOTIVE ASSEMBLY operations, as we'll be able to have PROPER  ENVIROMENT for engineers, researcher, scientist to study and improve manufacturing. Operations in the UK will be critical, while we can send REPRESENTATIVE, Q.C. engineers, manufacturing engineers attached to the OUTSOURCED Chassis  manufacturing companies to understand the PRACTICAL issues"

"Working with robotic and capital equipment companies like ABB, or KUKA or such will be STRATEGIC"

"The new 3IR automotive model industry is EXCITING. Frankly, many components and sub assemblies are not competitively made in the UK, Germany, France Italy, Japan or USA. Probably some components are not even in Korea or Taiwan"
