Consumers are being MASSIVELY overcharged for electricity both as consumer and taxsucker.
Solar power will help bring down electricity prices over the next five years, according to a new report. But it’s cheap imports of European ‘dirty power’ that will lower them the most
. . .
That’s one of the conclusions of a report by Moody’s, which predicted that wholesale electricity prices per MWh in the UK would fall from £45.90 today to somewhere between £42 and £46 by 2020.
- Cheaper energy on the way, but it's not all sunshine and rainbows
Firstly, that wholesale price is ONE THIRD, the price they charge me on the cheapest tariff I could find (15.54p/kWh, up from 11.8p 6.5 years ago); a more than 200% markup for something that's supposed to be subsidised by the taxsucker!!!!! After all, how can solar bring down the price if it WASN'T cheaper than fossil fuels or they WEREN'T price-gouging? Blaming the extortionate price in part on the carbon tax is BS too as solar, of course, wouldn’t be subject to it.
But even then, eBay offers a 50kW system, fully installed, for £43,000 and: Hawaiians are eager to do anything they can to cut their power bills. Residential electricity prices in the Aloha State averaged 31.2 cents per kilowatt hour in May, federal data shows. That was 2½ times the average U.S. price.
. . .
Rule of thumb: Hawaiian homeowners recover the costs of their off-grid systems after about five years — but the systems themselves last 20 to 25 years.
- What it’s like to use an off-grid solar-and-battery system in your home
So assuming the WORST case, a system at £43,000 would only need 2.565hrs equivalent to full power a day to match the cost over 20 years. As the article says, Hawaiians recover the cost in just five years and get decades of effectively free electricity.
So micro-generated electricity is substantially cheaper than wholesale electricity which is supposed to be subsidised!!!!! The sheeple are being fleeced. This is why in most nations around the World solar is FAR cheaper than fossil fuel and fossil fuel is FAR cheaper than fossil fuel in the thieved states of Amerika, Kanada and Poodleville, where solar (you're supposed to believe) is slightly more expensive than fossil fuels. It also explains why Poodleville introduced and then quickly cut the feed-in tariff as those who got solar panels were making HUGE profits from selling back into the grid at over-inflated prices. Though the scam of encouraging solar investment, then pulling the rug from under them is probably to cause disruption in the solar installation industry just as Shell invests in renewables but then pulls funding and sits on the patents.
