Editor's Note: 2012 is steadily drawing to an end, but many of China's images from this year will last long after the year has gone. China.org.cn selected China's most memorable moments captured on camera here in chronological order.

A seven-year-old girl holds a sign that reads "Chef, cook assistant, waitress, apprentice, vegetable cleaner needed" on Feb. 1, 2012, on a labor market in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. She helps her father look for workers who are available during the Spring Festival period. The Spring Festival, Chinese traditional New Year, is the nation's most important festival. Days before the festival, almost everybody, especially migrant workers and overseas Chinese from across the world, travel home to reunite with their families.

A man catches water fleas on the Yalu River, Feb. 17, 2012 in Dandong, northeastern China's Liaoning Province. The kind of water flea that lives on the Yalu River, can be sold at four yuan (US $0.64) per kilogram. The man catches about 15 kilograms every morning.

The photo taken on May 21, 2012, shows a partial solar eclipse observed in Beijing. An annular solar eclipse was observed across southeastern China on early morning of May 21. The annular solar eclipse, also named the "ring of fire" eclipse, started at 6:06 a.m. in Guangxi and northern Hainan and was visible in Guangdong, Jiangxi, Fujian and Zhejiang provinces. This is the first annular solar eclipse observed in China in over 50 years. Other parts of China observed a partial eclipse.
