Mahjong is a favorite pasttime in China. Chinese people, whether young or old, are so addicted to it that they can play mahjong almost everywhere: under a tree shase, by a river, in the streets, in a teahouse, and almost in every family party particularly in southern China. But does it go too far to allow college students to play mahjong, an addictive, time-wasting nonsense?

Here is the news. The Third World Mahjong Championship will be held in Oct 26 in Qianjiang Chongqing. Among the players are mahjong fans from overseas,  as well as college students from Peking University, Tsinghua Unversity, Nankai University and other China's elite universities. Nicknamed as College United Team, four players will participate in the championship after the fierce competition during the inter-college qualifier.
